Smoking section at front door of building,damp sheets,manager too busy to talk to me.

You advertise as a smoke free property. My son in law has severe asthma & is on a ventilator. The smoking section was right beside the front door less than 5 feet away.He had to walk through that.When I mentioned it to the staff I was told the manager was busy.
We just arrived on the ferry, it was dusk & we had no time to find another hotel.The entire lobby reeked of smoke.
Why would you claim to be smoke free & claim to care about your customers when you treat them this way.People with health issues, pregnant women, & those of us who do not wish to be subjected to second hand smoke should not have to put up with this.It is disgusting.
In addition the hotel smelled like mildew & in both our rooms the sheets were uncomfortably damp to the point of feeling wet.
I honestly feel ripped off & my Google,Facebook,Instagram & tiktok reviews will reflect this when our vacation is finished.This was our first night in Newfoundland & we were incredibly disappointed.
We have traveled all across Canada this year and this ,our final province is the only place that was so gross.
Really disappointed in this brand.

Cons:

Our stay was good. The only thing was in the middle of the night there was a lot of commotion and doors banging by other guests down our hallway. Unfortunately due to this we did not get a very good nights rest after driving all the way from St. John’s. Also I found a small rusty nail in the carpet….stepping on it.
