True hospitality. I had a wonderful stay. I would highly recommend!
A beautiful property in the middle of downtown Asheville within walking distance of shops, restaurants and bars. We also found the history of the building well maintained and on display. The hotel’s layout is well thought out; for example, there’s a large sitting area centrally located in the middle of the suites, offering families or groups of friends a place to meet just out side their room to talk and plan their adventures for the day, or to have a glass of wine together in the evening. Every corner of the building was impeccably clean and uniquely decorated. The bed was very comfortable.
The first negative that struck us was the absence of a restaurant. I had eaten at their restaurant in the past and was unaware it had been eliminated. The bar that replaced it is owned by a third party and was open only on Friday and Saturday night and required a cover charge. There is, however, a speakeasy in the basement, which we were informed of by the desk clerk as the place we needed to be on Friday night, so we put that on our calendar. On Friday night we found that space had been rented by a private party, so we were left trying to find other entertainment at the last minute. Another issue was housekeeping, as in we didn’t receive any during our entire stay. In the evening after our first night, when we asked about housekeeping, we were told they give lite service every other day. After the second night, when we again had no service, the front desk said they would send fresh towels to the room. Didn’t happen until we asked again that evening. It’s worth noting at this point the sign on the front desktop stating they offer daily lite housekeeping. Lastly, the room temperature is extremely difficult to manage.
Great place!
No heat in room; poor acoustics (we could clearly hear next room arguing at 2:30 AM), no self-parking.
Beautiful place. Location was great. Bed was very comfortable
Had to inquire about a double charge for valet parking. Did not have private parking
Beautiful property, very clean
Able to take in history and be immersed in the culture in downtown Asheville
Great location, rooms were huge, and Austin at the front desk was a gem.
The pillows were too flat, but if you bring your own pillows you’ll have nothing to complain about.
The hotel was in the heart of Asheville and was adorable. It was beautiful on the inside with some old charm. The valets are super attentive when you arrive. They not only were there to park our car but they even helped us with getting our belongings on the cart and in the hotel. The check in process was super easy and efficient. The rooms were enormous, comfortable, and quiet. Would absolutely recommend.
Haywood Park Hotel is our very favorite place to stay in Asheville! The staff are wonderful and so very pleasant not to mention helpful! We had a beautiful stay and can't wait to visit again soon!
Location and staff
A bit dated.
We had a nice room
We booked a room w 2 queens. We were the ONLY guests there (after ice storm - city was closed). We were told the only rooms available were on the 2nd floor and looked out into a dark alley. The smell of the room was not good. If we wanted a room on the other side with light, we needed to pay a $50 upgrade. We did.
great location, staff were very nice, free champagne in the afternoon. Very close to restaurants and there’s a very cool art cooperative across the stress!
nothing
The room s are absolutely beautiful in their period decor.
There is now a bar with live music until around 11pm and it was quite loud in the room. Also the hotel gym treadmill was in bad shape with a slipping tread. Felt like walking on ice.
