Great 2 Night Stay
Pros:

My daughter and I stayed here for 2 nights during a shopping trip. Check-in was easy, the room, pool, and breakfast area were very clean. We enjoyed the lady who was serving breakfast as she was very personable and on top of anything that was running low. There was an ice storm the first night and in the morning I asked her how the roads were and she said she had stayed overnight at the hotel. I know it’s hard being away from family during those times, but we sure appreciated the hot breakfast that she served!

Pros:

We stayed at the Hampton Inn Appleton (Fox River Mall) for a marriage retreat weekend. The hotel is an older location with some updates. Rooms were reasonably clean and generally comfortable. The east side of the hotel is just up against I 41, so if you're staying on that side, earplugs will be helpful for highway noise.

There were a couple issues with our stay that the management did a nice job of addressing quickly and without a fuss, but still things that make this a 4/5 instead of 5/5. First and foremost - we were assigned a room that had a previous issue with a bad odor. When we checked in it was OK, but by the next morning things smelled nasty. We mentioned it and they staff was open and admitted there had been a previous issue in that room and that they had believed it was solved. They, without question, moved us to another room which had no such problem.

Beds were reasonably comfortable, but pillows seemed like they have had better days and needed replacement. Some mildew in bathroom grout, but nothing excessive. Mattress had a coffee stain on one side (what can you do?). It was also quite firm - which was fine for me.

The breakfast is about what you'd expect from a Hampton - nothing special, but the waffles are always nice. Unfortunately there were 4 school robotics teams staying at the hotel and they completely overwhelmed the seating area (many hanging out and not even eating - just taking up space) and created long lines for everything. Management stepped in to help and opened the pool area for overflow seating.

Didn't go into the pool or jacuzzi area otherwise, but it appeared clean.

Overall an OK experience, but if I stay in the area again I'd probably choose something farther from the highway.

Cons:

There was nothing we didn’t like. I like it so much we will never stay anywhere else, and I’m already looking to find a Hampton Inn when we take our next trip to Florida.
