We were in Rockford for an event. Which required us to check in at the posted check in time of 3pm. We arrived at 3:15. The front desk told us that our room would not be ready for another hour. This complicated our plans because our ride to the event was at 4:15. We were planning on using that hour to prepare for the event. Instead we were offered snacks.
We went to the event on time after adapting to the lack of accommodation. We returned to the hotel several hours later to find the front desk vacant. After several minutes, the clerk appeared and we were able to check in. Again offering snacks for the inconvenience.
When we got up to the room the air conditioning was on full blast and the inside air temperature was near the outside air temperature. Which was typical for an evening in the Midwest in early march. I quickly made the adjustment, and after 15-20 minutes the room became bearable.
So after quite the day I decided to turn on the television. Didn’t work. Checked the plugs. All the inputs. Didn’t work. No signal. At this point we didn’t call the front desk because I wasn’t confident that they could accommodate us. They would likely offer more snacks.
In the morning at least there was coffee. But again in the morning the front desk was vacant. There was no one to offer us snacks that we didn’t want in the first place.
This did not meet the Marriott brand standard.
Everything was loved
Nothing was disliked
Easy to load in from our parking spot out front. Front desk gal went over and above to help us get into our room smoothly with our autistic, nonverbal son.
The room size was very nice.
Rooms were dated but clean overall. Family friendly. Ice maker outside room but hotel doesn’t provide buckets. Told us to use ice maker in room freezer but sign said it takes 72 hrs to produce ice and our stay was only 2 nights.
Friendly staff
Loved it!
Staff was friendly and check in was quick
Best value we’ve had in a long time.
We were very pleased with our stay at the Residence Inn in Rockford, IL. The reception area and lobby smelled very clean. Our room, in one of the annex buildings, was very nice. The carpet looked new, and the room was very comfortable. Nice lighting, comfortable bed, nice employees, and I did not feel this hotel looked dated. (At least in the Bldg we stayed.)
Outdated
Room was nice and big. I did book a handicap accessible room but it wasn't.
The hotel staff was amazing: friendly, helpful and good at their job. The hotel room itself, however, was rundown and tired looking. The coverlet on the bed was frayed; the bathroom cabinet was chipped and sorry looking; one dresser drawer would shut all the way and the carpet had a nasty looking mystery stain in front of the closet. Not what I expected from a Residence Inn.
I have stayed in several hotels in this area of Rockford and this hotel has the best pool.
BUT, the mattress was horrible! I had nerve pain every day.
I'd like to suggest [other than new mattresses] is 1) the lighting is very dim. Needs a couple of brighter lights. And
2) Needs a full length mirror.
plus side, they have GREAT cookies every day! :)
Huge double bedroom suite, 2 bathrooms with seating area and well equipped kitchen.
Very clean & comfortable beds.
Friendly and cheerful staff throughout.
Very reasonable rates considering the facilities.
Lots of grass
