The room had a horrible hospital smell. Even our clothes smelled of chemicals. My sister brought it up with reception and they said they all smell like that on that corridor. As they were already aware of the problem they gave her another room on the floor above.
I telephoned the hotel the following day to say I was concerned that it could be a leak from the air conditioning. She said she would transfer me to the duty manager but I just went through to voicemail on a mobile . I left a message explaining that the smell could be either a bacteria or leak, both of which are a health and safety issue.
I never heard back so we emailed them and had a very dismissive email back.
We had no apology and they really seem to have no regard for our concerns or comfort.
Do not visit if you value your health!
The hotel itself is lovely but the room really let us down due to the mould issue! This was absolutely vile and caused us to be ill. Have complained and received no response.
Room was lovely and big
Bed was extremely comfortable
Bathroom was amazing
Needed bigger towels
Noise from neighbours door banging
We always stay at this hote when in Birmingham. We like the rooms, the location and the price.
Nothing to add.
Clean, family rooms
Handy location. Nice atmosphere.
No bottled water in room. Fridge would make stay perfect.
The location makes it easy to reach by road
The heating consistently failed, I had to change room twice in order to find a warm one, and that was way too hot with no way of controlling the heat
Pillow uncomfortable, bit noisy at night time
Location was brilliant. Nice breakfast.
The bathtub drainage was blocked
