Nice stay here on the Neuse River in New Bern!!!
Pros:

Our journey continues to our home in South Florida and ChatGPT recommended this Marriott brand name for our pitstop here in New Bern, NC.

So much history here in this town and our stay was awesome, comfy and relaxing. Our room, 422, was clean, roomy, and the shower had great water pressure, a beautiful view of the Neuse River is an added plus. A much needed R and R after a long drive.

Great conversation with John who was working at the Bar/ Bistro during our stay, and nice smooth check in by the evening front desk personal. Sorry didn't get her name.

Overall, great stay, attentive staff, nice property on the beautiful Neuse River.

We will be back!!!

Great place to stay for a visit to downtown New Bern
Pros:

This is a great little hotel with many amenities. Our room was spacious and clean with a beautiful view of the Nuese River. The hotel staff was professional and friendly, and the hotel is a short walk to historic downtown New Bern, which has numerous cafés, restaurants, and shops. I would definitely stay here again.

Die Lage zur Stadt war toll.

Das Personal ist sehr unfreundlich und unfähig. Als erstes beim Check in sollten wir das Hotelzimmer nochmals bezahlen obwohl wir es bereits Online bezahlt hatten. Wir haben ein Zimmer für 4Personen gebucht, uns wurde ein Zimmer für 2Personen gegeben. Als wir zurück an der Rezeption waren und uns beschwert haben wurde uns ein anderes Zimmer zugewiesen, als wir dieses betreten haben, war es noch durch andere Gäste belegt. Das war für uns sehr unangenehm. Wir sind wieder zur Rezeption wo uns ein weiteres Zimmer zugewiesen wurde. Dieses Zimmer war groß genug mit 4Schlafplätzen hat aber sehr Modrig Schimmlig gerochen. Wir hatten Inklusive Frühstück gebucht und am nächsten Morgen sollten wir das Frühstück bezahlen. Ich habe den unsere Buchung gezeigt und daraufhin haben wir nur 3x Frühstück bekommen, da Kinder über 12Jahren bezahlen sollen. Das war eine unverschämtheit. Wir haben für 4 Personen gebucht inkl. Frühstück, also nach meinem Verständnis Frühstück für 4Personen und nicht nur für 3. Auf den Abrechnungsbeleg vom Hotel stehen 4Adults drauf also 4Vollzahler in meinem Augen also auch 4x Frühstück. Es gab kein einlenken seitens Hotel. Beschwerde an Booking ist raus. Das Hotel können wir nicht empfehlen!!!

Pros:

Our stay was perfect. Great king room with a balcony overlooking the river. Didn't feel like going out to dinner so ate at the Bistro in-house and were very pleased with the meal.

It was just OK enough that we did stay. Of course we could not cancel without huge penalty.

Tub had an ugly patch the length of the tub approx 1.5 inches wide. The room #213 was a little tired with scratched furniture and pulled thread on the sofa bed. At their rates, you would think they could at least replace the cracked/repaired tub. Not up to the standard for Marriott. Also we were not told when booking or checking in, there would be house keeping only every other day. why was the rate $299 for first day and $189 for other 2 days. This is not a $299 quality hotel.

Cons:

Staff was not completely familiar with new operations program and it took longer than usual to check in . Also the pool was not open . It was 91 degrees and the pool was closed ! This did not sit well with myself or my wife , especially for what the cost of our stay was. We have been coming here for years but I think this was our last time .Price is unreasonable for what you get , no pool and an entrance door to our room you had to kick to get open ! Not what I paid for !!

Nice hotel in good location

Our second stay and as comfortable as the first.

Clean room, good service, pleasant breakfast.

Showing a bit of wear and tear with entry door to room marred, chips in bath tub, etc. Loses a point for that but not our business.

We will return.
