Excellent location to the CBD. Eclectic and quaint hotel. Unit was spacious.

Cons:

The bathroom facet was sticky and used tub facet as needed. Other than that, the unit was good.

I like the old worldy charm, friendliness of most of staff, proximity to public transport

Cons:

There was a smell in and around the bed in the mezanine bedroom. Seemed to me could have been old and molding rubber in pillows or bedding/matress.

Lovely grand hotel in convenient location at a good price
Pros:

Lovely old building in a prime location. Easy to reach from Southern Cross station and on the intersection of two tram lines. Also right by the river for access to south bank.
Very friendly owner / manager who made us very welcome. What a responsibility to take on being custodian of such a grand building.
The room as comfortable, modern and had everything we needed.

Cons:

The standard of cleaning could be improved. Several hairs in the bathroom and dust in the air vents.
Not easy to access the wardrobe as there wasn’t much space on the mezzanine bedroom area.

Fantastic stay- will be back
Pros:

Basically everything- the room was large and had everything we needed for a great stay. It also had great air conditioning (especially considering the record breaking temperatures during our stay). The beds were very comfortable too and the cleaning service was good also. The property was also close to the free trams and Southern Cross station + lots of food options.

Cons:

N/A- only thing I guess was there could have been a little more space to hang up clothes in the wardrobe.

Bathroom wasn't the cleanest the shower and toilet had long black hair strands all over the floor. Yuk
We stayed at a busy time so No house cleaning in 4 days. spare towels were in reception so we changed our own daily.

The Grand Hotel was an absolute pleasure to stay at I would highly recommend this Hotel for anyone wanting to stay in Melbourne, it is a home away from home, the Manager and staff were extremely friendly and the service was exceptional, there is no doubt that customer service is their number 1 priority, very hard to find these days. The Hotel is a very short walk to the Casino, South Warf DFO and Southern Cross Station, also a short walk to Marvel Stadium. Would definitely return for another stay.
