Enttäuschender Aufenthalt – leider weit unter unseren Erwartungen

Wir hatten uns sehr auf unseren Aufenthalt im Palacio Solicio Small Luxury Hotel of the World in Málaga gefreut, wurden jedoch leider in mehreren Punkten enttäuscht. Gerade bei einem Hotel dieser Preiskategorie und mit diesem Anspruch an Luxus und Service hätten wir deutlich mehr erwartet.

Bereits im Vorfeld hatten wir das Hotel darüber informiert, dass wir unseren Hochzeitstag während unseres Aufenthalts feiern würden. Natürlich ist uns bewusst, dass ein Hotel nicht verpflichtet ist, zu einem solchen Anlass eine besondere Aufmerksamkeit vorzubereiten. Dennoch hätten wir uns zumindest über eine kurze Gratulation gefreut. In unseren bisherigen Erfahrungen mit Hotels dieser Kategorie war es durchaus üblich, dass ein solcher Anlass mit einer kleinen Geste gewürdigt wurde – sei es durch ein Zimmerupgrade, eine Flasche Sekt oder eine andere Aufmerksamkeit auf dem Zimmer. Hier gab es jedoch keinerlei Reaktion. Das fanden wir persönlich sehr schade, insbesondere weil wir den Anlass vorab ausdrücklich mitgeteilt hatten.

Hinzu kam, dass wir uns gerne ein Zimmer im Hauptgebäude gewünscht hätten. Uns war vor der Anreise allerdings nicht bewusst, dass es neben dem Hauptgebäude noch ein separates Nebengebäude gibt. Unser Zimmer befand sich schließlich dort. Auch wenn wir verstehen, dass nicht jeder Zimmerwunsch garantiert werden kann, hätten wir uns eine entsprechende Information im Vorfeld gewünscht. So war die Enttäuschung bei unserer Ankunft entsprechend groß.

Besonders enttäuschend war jedoch der Housekeeping-Service. Wir waren insgesamt zwei Nächte im Hotel. Am zweiten Tag waren wir den gesamten Vormittag und fast den ganzen Tag in Málaga unterwegs und hielten uns lediglich für etwa eine Stunde mittags auf dem Zimmer auf. Trotzdem wurde unser Zimmer an diesem Tag überhaupt nicht gereinigt.

There is a rooftop Bar area which was great for a small area for sunshine and drinks, but the pool was inaccessible as if there are more than 4 or 5 people around the pool area, there is nowhere to sit and it is very awkward to get to the pool. It was a tiny area and several loungers were taken by towels when the clients seemed nowhere around for a long while. I understand that the area, by its nature in the city centre is small but a way should be found to ensure that more guests are able to access the pool if they wish.

One day we rested by the pool. Families arrived and children jumped in and out of pool for 2 hours. The noise was considerable and you could hear the screams of children on ground floor. Pool was situated on the roof top. We were splashed throughout the afternoon. While we do not want to spoil fun of children, surely a guest books a SLH to avoid this type of experience. There were rules for using the pool and the noisy guests were not reminded of them.

Lots of small problems with the room. The TV didn’t work, the hairdryer didn’t work. The room was noisy and somewhat small.

On nous précise un roof top avec piscine, l’ensemble doit faire 50m2, ce n’est pas concevable pour un Small Luxury , on comprend très bien la limitation d’espace sur ces toits mais il convenait d’en faire un espace , dans une deco en correspondance avec l’ensemble de l’hôtel .

I clarified before arrival that the booking was made for a special event. I was thus flabberghasted to get a room with no window but a small opening in the ceiling although I paid more than 400 Euro per night. My repeated request for another room was declined due to be fully booked. Everything else was outstanding. I got the indication that a better room had been available by booking directly with the hotel upfront.
