Unbelievable views of rice fields in the mountain out in a proper local area, the owners are incredible and are there to help you with anything. It is a bit out the way but that's the only way you will find stays like this, so definitely recommend getting a scooter.

Las vistas desde la habitación son preciosas, la cama comodísima y hay agua caliente para ducharse. Pedimos comida todos los dias y nos la traían a la habitación, ya que los restaurantes están un poquito lejos.
Gede y su familia son un amor, te ayudan en todo lo que necesites y siempre con una sonrisa. Nos sentimos muy a gusto con ellos.
Hicimos un tour largo para ver 8 cascadas, recomendado por Gede, y fue chulísimo :)

If you need a break, peace and quiet. A place to meditate and do yoga, this is it. The sound of the waterfall can be heard from the room and there is a stream just below the room. The rooms were stunning. Different and beautiful. The beds were very comfortable. The drive there from Ubud was magical.
The view was out of this world. I was there with my two kids, 11&12. My daughter slept below and my son shared the big bed up stairs. It all felt very safe. The staff were extremely kind and helpful. They organized food for our dinner to be bought up from a local restaurant, and a driver to take us out for the day. Waterfalls, hot springs, temple, great lunch in Lovina. Drinks on the beach and shopping, then home. He was brilliant. The owners also kindly organized one of the best massages I’ve had in years, for all of us, in the evening in our rooms. The ladies were lovely and just great with the kids. Thank you for a wonderful stay.
There is a huge hill walk down to get to the mini mart and a cafe. And getting back up is tricky. But I’m sure you could catch a ride from owners on their scooters. No driver apps. work out there, the owners will try and help with anything. When you go I can only suggest, especially if you have kids, to bring snacks and fruit up with you. There is no restaurant on site or in close or easy walking distance.
One of the best homestays that I have been to. An amazing view of the fields and the sea, so peaceful with only the sounds of the birds and the water of the river nearby. The hosts were so nice and kind, they helped me organise a trip to the waterfalls and then to the hot spring and a Buddhist temple nearby. I totally recommend this place !!

D'Kailash is a little mountain paradise. If you're expecting a luxury resort this isn't it but the cabins are well equipped and even have a kettle and fridge, which you don't often get at this price. It's like sleeping up in the clouds at the top of the mountain. You can hear the waterfalls below. The sunrises are magnificent. The view incredible.
Breakfast was fresh and delicious.
The owners were so kind and friendly to us. We had a wonderful stay. They even cooked us a delicious Nasi Goreng one night.

Just a heads up, being in the mountains the roads are narrow and steep and the cabins have wooden steps to get up to the rooms. Tricky if you have mobility issues. But we are in our 60s and we managed. We had our own car which is a good idea as nearest restaurants are quite a walk away.
Staying at D’Kailash Retreat was one of the highlights of our trip to Bali. The wooden bungalows are simple but really comfy, with good mattresses and everything you need to feel at home. Waking up to those amazing views every morning was a dream—pure peace and quiet. What really makes the place special, though, are the owners. They’re genuinely kind, welcoming and the sweetest ever! If you’re into nature, calm vibes, and real connection, this is the spot.

The energy of this place is out of this world. You wake up to a view that feels like a dream. Then you go for breakfast and meet the kind local Balinese people, still unspoiled by tourism and money. Their strong faith in the gods they pray to surrounds you with a special energy that you can feel in your heart.
The location is really beautiful with stunning vistas on each side. The family running the accommodation are absolutely lovely and extremely helpful. The place is a perfect little peaceful retreat in nature and very close to a lot of the waterfalls and other tourist attractions of north Bali.
