Don’t stay here if you want a good night’s sleep!

I asked for a quiet room. I got a message back saying they would try to accommodate my request. I feel like they did the opposite. I was given what seemed to be the loudest room possible. It was directly outside the lift on one of their lower floors and facing the main road. The room isn’t soundproof and the walls are thin. The traffic noise outside was ridiculous-sirens, engines revving loudly and so many noises throughout the night. The added noise of people coming out the lift shouting, laughing loudly and knocking doors all night meant I barely got any sleep for my entire stay. Really regret staying here as I spend the whole of my trip feeling exhausted from the lack of sleep. They also knew the room was noisy as there was an offer of earplugs on request. Who wants to pay hundreds of pounds to have to sleep with uncomfortable plugs stuck in their ears?
