We had a lovely stay, definately recomend.
Pros:

Location of the hotel is very close to the center in a very beautiful area,surrended by luxury boutiques. The personel was very helpful and special thanks go to morning, breakfast crue/recepcionist for making our begining of the day so lovely. Breakfast buffet was super tasty, with a wide selections of deli, cheeses, vegs,and also pastries. Room was very clean, with new bedsheets and new towels.

Cons:

Klein puntje van aandacht: een rookmelder (denk ik) zit echt recht boven het bed. Als je dus je ogen opent is er meteen een rode sensor die je oog in schijnt, een andere plek daarvoor zou prettiger zijn.

We had booked our stay at Metro Hotel Tirana well in advance, but unfortunately, our travel dates coincided with a period when the protests in Tirana escalated and turned violent. We reached out to the hotel beforehand to ask for their honest advice on whether we should still go ahead with our trip, and we were genuinely impressed by their honesty and reassurance. They explained that the area where the hotel is located was very safe, and they were absolutely right!

A special mention goes to Meri, with whom I exchanged several messages through Booking.com before our arrival. She was incredibly helpful, patient, and reassuring, taking the time to help us better understand the situation and navigate it with more confidence. Her kindness and availability made a real difference to our experience even before we arrived.

In the end, we decided to go ahead with our trip, and we were so glad we did. The hotel is located on a lovely, quiet little street in a peaceful and safe area, which made us feel comfortable throughout our stay.

We had booked two double/twin rooms and were delighted to receive an upgrade for both! The rooms were very spacious, spotlessly clean, and well equipped with all the amenities you could need for a comfortable stay. The soundproofing could be slightly better, as some noise occasionally carried through, but this was only a minor detail in an otherwise excellent experience.

Another lovely touch was the birthday surprise they prepared for my friend, who was celebrating her birthday during our trip. We arrived in the room to find a cake with candles waiting for her. Such a thoughtful gesture that made the occasion even more special!

Finally, the entire staff deserves the highest praise. From reception to the bar and the breakfast room, everyone was exceptionally kind, welcoming, and attentive. They truly embody the warmth, generosity, and hospitality that Albania is so well known for.

We couldn’t have asked for a better experience.
