The staff were truly helpful - our initial room had an odd smell and they were so friendly in helping us find a new room.
The location is great if you're going to a show at the Keller Auditorium or wanting to visit PSU. They also offer a parking garage, which is great.
They have fun stuff to do, there's video games and s'mores and bikes to rent.
The hotel needs some TLC and the rooms were in need of a thorough cleaning. Our first room had an odd smell (we could tell the previous guest's scent lingered), and our second room had makeup stains in the walls (really), the bathroom smelt of plumbing, and there was an empty box of wine in our closet. Also, the bathroom door was incredibly difficult to open and close. The carpets were dingy. Just in need of some deep cleaning.
I love how artsy it was
The customer service wasn’t that good.
Localização e equipe excelentes, muito prestativos. O hotel é bem confortável e tem vários divertimentos.
As paredes entre os quartos são muito finas e é possível escutar tudo o que os outros hóspedes falam.
Good location
Shower was inadequate, pillows were hard. The worst was not knowing that it costs $40/night to park.
Bed very comfortable
Bathroom door would not close. Other furniture was in poor condition.
I loved the parking, and longe area
Convenient location and walk ability to the Pearl and other parts of the city. Not a hugely busy area. The parking garage was awesome since we had a motorcycle in a show and needed to store it in the bed of our truck for security and the garage was plenty big. The courtyard is nice with games and fireplaces. The s‘mores hour was nice.
I kinda felt that lacking basic coffee in the room was inconvenient since I had to take the journey downstairs via elevator in pjs to the restaurant to get it and the continental breakfast was also a little sparse (hard boiled eggs, cereal, little yogurts and some bagels). The first night we woke to our room being 86° and was told the weird HVAC system was to blame (it apparently only goes off of the outside ambient temperature and if it goes below 55° then the heat turns on in your room and you can’t shut it off nor can you activate AC. Which I kind of think is ridiculous that that is how it is set up considering most HVAC units go off of the temperature inside your property …..So we had to open up the one teeny window and use a box fan, somehow balanced on a chair to push air through our room and have our curtains open which meant we woke up to sunlight blasting first thing in the morning AND since we had a courtyard facing room we got to listen to people partying late into the evening since we had to have our window open.
We had a brief yet wonderful stay at The Hotel Zag. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The room was spacious and comfortable. The breakfast was appreciated. We had a great stay and will come back again.
We had a nice stay at the hotel Zags. The outdoor area was a great place to have a drink and enjoy the evening with comfy seating and fireplaces to keep away the chill. George at the front desk was very helpful. The arcade was fun. We were staying overnight before the state solo contest at Portland State on Saturday. It was a very short walk to campus and to find parking and places to eat.
I liked the possibility to lend a bike for free.
Helpful staff.
Great staff, great courtyard and restaurant
Bathroom was quite small -- could use more hooks! Plumbing was draining quite slowly.
Good room size and easy access to public transport or to walk to places. The hotel itself has a big games room and nice inner courtyard where we had s’mores in the evening (and sat outside in the sun). Staff were all friendly and helpful.
Breakfast was a tad basic, but it some ways it was nice to not be inundated with choices of things to eat.
The location was perfect, close by to the university campus with lots of great food options within walking distance. We felt very safe and could park our car overnight very close by for cheap.
Nothing, we liked it all.
As a couple, both of us were greatly impressed by the environment of the hotel, the additional amenities, friendliness of staff and general comfort; a nice gesture is the hour for preparing s’mores (a gesture that is not expensive, but clients appreciate) and the patio and other facilities of the hotel. Great Location. The breakfast, even being a continental breakfast, was good and with plenty of choices. We stayed in the hotel for 5 nights and could notice that the quality of breakfast depended on who was in charge, on a specific day; therefore, a recomendation, if there is any issue with the brakfast, notify the staff at the lobby.
A nice gesture is that they allowed us to do checking and get into the room earlier.

The staff didn't tell us that we were supposed to tell them if we wanted our room cleaned. We ended up having no towels and uncleaned room our second day . The indicator on the wall inside the room for cleaning is no longer working , therefore they should always brief their guests that it’s upon request .
