Great location. Beautiful rooms, grounds, and surroundings.
Pillows too hard, small room and bathroom, needed to ask for more towels and coffee cups. Did not have adequate parking in the lot; had to park on the street for two nights. TV screen too small.
西班牙式的建筑风格很有度假气息,房间宽大,住起来舒服。早餐很棒 ,虽然简单,但味道不错。还给小朋友提供了制作松饼的体验机会。很有趣的体验。
The room was spotless. A/C already on when we checked in, very nice touch. Breakfast was a lovely bonus.
Great location to downtown walking distance. Great room, love the little patio and the breakfast area was very nice. Did not like the gravel parking lot.
The parking lot backed up to a park and while we were there, there was a lot of homeless hanging around in the parking lot
La habitación amplia y cómoda para los 4 que nos hospedamos. Buen desayuno, variado y completo. Estacionamiento para el auto dentro de la tarifa
Todo estuvo muy bien
It’s comfortable and cosy.
It happened that when we were there, there were limited parking, probably because of the good occupancy rate.
The location
The room was visually appealing
The staff was kind and helpful
Breakfast was convenient
There was no place to hang clothing and very little storage space.
On site parking was limited.
Room was big ,clean ,next to resteraunt.

If didn't rain those day's.
It’s walking distance to all the cute spots in downtown Ventura and there’s parking & the breakfast is great!
It’s a tiny bit outdated
Great location that was an easy walking distance to the beach and pier. Room was OK for an overnight stay. Buffet breakfast was good. Friendly front desk staff.
Only one beside table and plug. No tables available at breakfast so had to bring it back to our room to eat.
Clocktower Inn located near downtown Ventura, California doesn’t try to impress — it simply does. From the moment I checked in, the staff were warm, steady, and genuinely welcoming. No theatrics, just real hospitality.
The room delivered exactly what I hoped for: clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully arranged, with a microwave, fridge, workable desk space, coffee maker with tea and coffee, ice bucket and glasses, toothpaste (asked the front desk person), a TV with over 100 channels, and plenty of storage/closet space.
The bathroom had these surprisingly pretty tiles that felt intentional rather than generic. It almost offset the showerhead sitting around 5′10″. A minor note in an otherwise well-considered room. The furniture wasn’t cheap or mismatched — it actually fit the building’s rustic, old-Spanish character. Even the artwork avoided that common hotel “cheese.” Instead, it featured real images of Ventura, subtle and grounded. It’s clear someone cared about the details, and they got them right.
The lobby was another standout. They had it fully set for Christmas tasteful décor, a lit tree, the fireplace going — all of it creating this warm, welcoming glow the moment you walk in. Not overdone, not too little. Just… right.
Breakfast was simple and dependable and carb loaded. My room had a small balcony overlooking Ventura — a quiet place to start or end the day. In the nearby park, I did notice a few individuals who seemed to be moving through their own stories, but even with that, the area stayed calm and quiet, and I felt safe throughout my stay (cis male).
What impressed me most is how consistently this place shows intention. From the design choices to the atmosphere to the easy hospitality, it all adds up. And after seeing what others have said, my experience fits right in: this isn’t just “good for the price” — it’s genuinely a solid, memorable stay.
Clocktower Inn is the kind of place more people should know about: steady, comfortable, thoughtfully run, and quietly remarkable.
A true five-star experience — effortless, inviting, and beautifully put together.
ChatGPT helped me arrange my words.
The convenience of it being so close to Main Street.
The room was not very clean and the beds were absolutely horrible uncomfortable.
Fantastic location - easy walk to the beach and downtown. Comfortable rooms exactly like the pictures. Friendly staff and excellent value.
Nothing.
First the PROs:
LOCATION could not be better; a block from the mission church and Main St., which is pedestrian/bicycle only and has interesting shops - don't miss EclecTeak! - good restaurants, etc and the beach and pier are only a few blocks away.
ROOM: My adult son and I stayed in Rm. 110, which is spacious, with 2 fullsize, comfortable beds and lots of windows. The heating/cooling unit works well and is easy to adjust. Earlier reviews talked about dated carpets, but the room was updated with a new floor.
BUILDING I liked the style, with a fireplace in the lobby and sunny atrium breakfast area. Staff is very nice.
If you want more than the Continental breakfast that is provided, I recommend the Cajun Kitchen.
The Cons:
This room was not inexpensive. Some things, like the low bathroom counter and low showerhead would require a lot of work to update. Most of my other complaints would be easy to remedy.
No trash can in the room, just a tiny one in the bathroom.
There are two beds; one has two side tables and one lamp. The other bed had neither, and a loveseat against the bed doesn't allow space for it. I've never been in another hotel that was set up like that. When I wanted to read in the bed, I had no lamp. I asked at the front desk and was told that that's just how it was. They did send another lamp to us and I moved the loveseat, moved one of the sidetables and new lamp to my side, so that worked.
BED: The bottom sheet was strange. It wasn't fitted and barely reached the end of the bed, so it bunched up and I had to remake the bed. Earlier reviews complained about this so I'm not sure why this hasn't been changed.
The water glasses provided are barely larger than shotglasses. Why?
BATHROOM: The water went back and forth between freezing and scalding a few times till it finall stabilized. Even very cheap hotels provide adequate quality and quantity of towels. We had only 2 towels (what if you used the jacuzzi, too?) and they were thin, scratchy and small. Get better towels and provide more!
Rewiews two years ago complained about the towels and the tiny, silver dollar size soaps. This hasn't changed.
The cereal bowls in the breakfast room are also miniature-size. Never seen them that small before. They should upgrade the bowls and the plastic cutlery.
That's my review! I'd stay here again for the location, but I hope they make these upgrades.
