The location is right off of 35 so, it made getting into Duluth easy and it was ideal for our stay.
A few things made it bad:
- When booking the stay we had no idea they were doing construction and renovations. So the entire place looked like a construction zone.
- We got a Jacuzzi tub suite and our tub was disgusting. There was a bunch of hair in the tub and all over the filter which looked like it never got cleaned. The facet itself was the worst part. The facet has a silver lid that covers it, well we accidentally lifted it up and it was absolutely just covered in mold. So the water that came out that was suppose to be clean, was contaminated with mold. It was sickening.
- We had until 11am the day we were leaving to turn in our key cards and leave. Well, they decided that they were going to be replacing all of the carpet on the floor we stayed on starting on nice and early that morning. We were bothered by both front desk staff and housekeeping several times because the carpeting guys were mad that we were in their way. So we were being rushed out of our room despite having an hour before it was even 11am. Not to mention, when trying to load the car up they stopped us to ask if we were leaving and there was piles of trim all over.
The staff were rude when checking in, as well as, when something was needed. We came here as a hockey team to stay and we were dissapointed. The pool area was a brisk 65 degrees. The kids were so cold while swimming. Our room had no heat, so we were put in the ajoining room and asked to keep the middle door open to heat both rooms. Of course, this did not keep up, so our room was chilly the whole time.
Vicinity to Duluth and Spirit Mountain.
Clean
Location
Very dated, not clean and lots of garbage
Breakfast could have had more selection of pastries and hot choices. Liked the fact that coffee and juice were available 24/7.
La ubicacion del hotel
Pedí una habitacion de cama doble y recibí de una sola cama
The front desk staff were very pleasant and friendly.
I did not like seeing the staff on there phones when they were working. Breakfast was 7 to 9, if I remember correctly. We would get there and not all the food was out. Seen her txting and even talking on her cell phone. I thought it was disrespectful when we were looking for bread and there was none put out. Then hot breakfast was the same thing every day. I was there for 5 days. So we went over to Mc Donalds for breakfast. Sad since we paid for the stay at the hotel.
Nothing to be honest
Showed up shortly after check in to find out that the WiFi is out and they can’t check me in because they don’t have any back ups incase the WiFi goes out. Finally got the room and it smelled terrible like a musty old wet dog. Went to the front desk and got a new room, for it to also smell terrible. You would think that a $330 dollar 1 night hotel stay would be nice but it wasn’t at all. I couldn’t recommend this hotel to anyone it was terrible. There were random stains and mysterious gunk in the corner of the room.
Despite recent snow and ice, it was easy to get into parking area, and especially easy to get to my room from outside side entrance.
It didn't really bother me since I live near a busy highway, but the hotel sits next to a gas station with large trucks driving very loudly and close to the hotel to get to the diesel pumps, and of course their engines keep running while they are there.
