It was close to the airport and the price was competitive.

Cons:

This is an old hotel in desperate need of renovation. I chose this hitel based on the reputation of the Crowne Plaza name. To say that it didn't meet my expectations is an understatement.

Th e front desk staff was a little curt. After serving the customer before me she told me "just wait a minute " in a somewhat rude tone and I hadn't said anything just took 1 step towards the desk and I mean just 1 step

The little coffee shop within the property had friendly staff and tasty sandwiches

Cons:

Room felt like a dump. Wall paper was bubbling and looked dirty. The bathroom soaps were all locked into place.Room felt humid and mildew-y

Pros:

Very convenient location for the airport and included shuttle bus. Staff was helpful and friendly. Breakfast was standard but quite good.

Cons:

Overall the hotel was feeling rather dated and could use a refresh.

Did the job, can't say it was memorable.
Pros:

The front desk staff i encountered were extremely friendly and i had a great experience. The hotel is very conveniently located to the the airport. 5 min in the shuttle. Can't ask for more with regard to that. Breakfast was fine with regard to the quality of the food.

Cons:

The breakfast staff was either understaffed, undertrained , or under organized, or a combination in the middle. Everyone at the breakfast service was polite and worked hard, but it wasn't that busy and just sort of bumbled on itself. I have full respect for those serving , they have just been let down by whomever is in charge of them.
The room we stayed in 706 stunk of weed, I responded to the auto message "How is everything with your room ?" 9:08pm with "Well to be honest it's smells like someone was smoking weed in there" 9:11pm. And at 12:42am "I do appologies""Do you want to change your room?" Obv's i'm asleep at this point. This appears to be either a bot that messaged me with nobody monitoring or and empty question much like "how ya doing?" at a bar with no response expected. Not necessarily a complaint here just , if you're going to ask a customer for feedback in real time, perhaps someone should be taking notice.
The room had obviously had leaks or damp problems left unaddressed for quite some time as the paint was peeling and it just felt damp.

Clean and comfortable hotel with one service flaw.Overall, this is a good, clean hotel that is very convenient for anyone flying out of Newark. The rooms and facilities are well-maintained. Unfortunately, the service at the bar was disappointing—the bartender (Willie) was dismissive and rude. If they improve their customer service at the lounge, this would be a perfect airport stay.
