Vibes are great, the lobby is beautiful and our room was nicely designed. Room service and staff were great, super fast and friendly. We didn't eat at the Arms but have heard great things, maybe next time. Very comfortable bed (although my husband did mention the pillows being a weird shape lol). Some construction being done but it didn't disrupt our stay in any way which was lovely. Convenient parking in a great location for our purposes.
In some spots the age of the hotel is quite clear in a less than ideal way. The elevators are oddly bouncy and at least one of them had some paneling that was very cracked. The bathroom had some badly done tiling and a strange configuration. Nothing to put the soap on once it's out of the package so it just slides on the counter.
Clean, centrally located, walked everywhere we needed to go. Friendly staff. And most importantly quiet. Will definitely come again.
Great guest experience, central to everything, loved the access to using the YMCA for guest. The rooms were comfortable, staff were friendly and accommodating. Great value for the quality of the hotel. 4stars! Will stay again when in Halifax.
Have stayed here several time. Great staff. Wonderful location. Clean comfortable rooms. Looking forward to our next stay.
Clean- helpful staff- well furnished -
Small toilet
Lots of old-world character and friendly staff. Excellent location in Halifax.
Some fixtures/fittings (fixable and unrelated to the building's old-world charm) are a bit worn.
The Lord Nelson is a beautiful hotel. The lobby is stunning with its high ceiling and chandeliers.
Check in was very easy. I was served quickly and I was able to store my bag easily and explore while I waited for check in time as I did arrive early. When I did check in, everything was explained in good detail, including the amenities. I love that you can go to the YMCA down the street and that it's included as an amenity along with their on site fitness centre.
I stayed in petite room which was still a good size and well appointed with good value for what I paid. I also got their breakfast offer and the voucher allowed me a coffee and a smoked salmon Benedict, which was very good. The menu for all meals is a good size and the food is great. I also ordered room service and got the gorogonzola spaghetti. The food was served promptly and the service was very friendly.
A wonderful stay in a charming, clean, friendly hotel that is deserving of its 4 stars.
Visited Halifax for an event at the University and stayed on to visit relatives and look around the area. Great location, friendly staff (are all Canadians friendly? Seemed so to us), large room with free coffee and water. Overall good value and pleasant stay.
We stayed for a medical procedure at the victoria general, its very close Staff were great the room was very nice. The coffee machine in the room makes amazing coffee. Would definitely stay there again
Overall, we enjoyed our stay at the hotel. The rooms were comfortable, and the facilities were excellent. While there was a small confusion about breakfast being included, the staff was polite and helpful. We would recommend this hotel and appreciate their efforts to make our stay enjoyable.
The Lord Nelson is always a special experience— historic, beautiful, charming, and with very attentive and lovely staff.
Very comfortable and amazing service. The medical stay rate and proximity to both hospitals brought us there. The wonderful stay will bring us back.
Excellent location. Very friendly staff. Clean, comfortable rooms. Attentive, welcoming servers at the hotel restaurant. I will definitely return there on my next trip to Halifax.
Loved how nice staff were when we arrived. Also very fast with communication through booking.com and meeting our want for a late checkout
Wasn’t able to get wedding pictures taken at the hotel. And no free breakfast
