Breakfast had a nice variety of food and providing melons for fruit was a nice touch. Gentleman at the front desk the day of 4/16 was very helpful when we had misplaced a medical insurance cared.
Clean spacious room with two sinks in the bathroom area, nice staff, nice breakfast included, easy parking, reasonable checkout time of noon. Short walk to beach and pier, short drive to downtown restaurants and shopping or to channel island cruises.
Walls between rooms are not well soundproofed, the pool area is right beside the highway and train tracks so very noisy and not relaxing, and during our stay the jacuzzi area was not cleaned up.
Staff is friendly, courteous, always available and willing to help. Breakfast was better than most and again, the staff was very accommodating. The room was large and very clean.
The bed sloped to one side. Not real bad, but enough to feel I was rolling out. I just climbed into the middle... problem solved, but if I was with someone else I would have been rolling out one side.

Sound of freeway☹️☹️☹️
Great location for my specific purpose, nice large room and public areas, parking was easy and included. Clean room where everything worked as expected.
The turn in from Thompson street is also part of the south bound freeway on ramp and it is very easy to miss the entrance and then you are committed to enter the south bound freeway to the next exit. The garage elevator card reader did not work and you had to walk up the garage ramp to get to the elevator.
The breakfast was just what we needed. So fast and easy so we could get ourselves in the ocean fast. We lived that we could walk to EVERYTHING! Very friendly and helpful staff. We thought we would hear the freeway but we couldn’t hear it at all.
Asked for quiet room and got one next to freeway- slept very little. Wi-Fi not secure. Had to work too hard with manager to get partial refund- he was definitely not eager to be helpful.

The location
The room felt humid and stuffy
We booked this hotel in advance for a family trip to Ventura. The photos looked appealing, but we initially assumed it would be closer to the beach. However, it’s situated across the busy 101 freeway, although still within walking distance.
Upon arriving, we discovered that the balcony room we had paid extra for had an enclosed balcony with a high wall. This detail wasn’t evident in the provided pictures, but it certainly wasn’t worth the additional cost for a balcony room.
The constant noise from the 101 freeway was a major issue. It was almost impossible to get a good night’s sleep, as the noise seemed to be amplified by the poorly mounted air conditioning unit. To make matters worse, there’s a train that runs atop the freeway at this intersection, and you can hear its horn as it alerts for the nearby intersection.
The room and maintenance seemed decent otherwise. However, if you’re a light or moderate sleeper, I strongly advise against staying here. The cloth furniture was worn and frayed in certain areas, and the parking at night was filled up. We had to park in a spot that could have been better lit.
When we got in our room, I called at the front desk to express our displeasure with the “balcony“. They simply told me the manager would be in on Monday if I wanted to talk with them. We had planned to check out on Sunday and found another hotel in the area instead.
I tried to upload a photo with the distance to the freeway, which is approximately 75 to 80 feet from the rooms, but Tripadvisor would not let it upload
The breakfast options were great! The bed was comfortable. Loved the two sinks in the room!
The room was dirty and dusty, the carpet was sticky and the noise from top floor.

Train is right by my room loud also, but not too bad where it can be heard in the room if there is talking or TV. Elevator for going into the parking space under didn’t always work even with the key.
This hotel is an amazing value right across from the beach. There is free parking and you can walk to the beach (about a 10 minute walk over the freeway) or into town to get some food and drinks. We didn't get in our car the whole time we were there. The staff was all incredibly friendly. There is a social hour every night where you get two free drinks and we ended up meeting some people from our home town. There is a free breakfast that included chilaquiles! The pool and jacuzzi were awesome too - the jacuzzi was actually hot. We ended up meeting a lot of people down at the pool too. The room was very spacious and well appointed.
This was a hidden gem for a fantastic price. My husband and I will definitely stay here again next time we are in Ventura.
