The property was centrally located in the middle of the business district. The room was large. The property has a dining room and tap room. It is also near famous Shaw’s Steakhouse and many other restaurants.
The property is in the middle of refurbishing rooms. No sound problems. However, workers used the guest elevators to remove old mattresses and carpets. The shallow area of the pool is dangerous and slippery. I slipped and injured myself. Another guest twisted their foot.
Nothing
It was scary, dirty, noisy, and very old!!
Love the room we had, was awesome!
The hot tub jets are all messed up, there was no directional filter so the water didn’t come out correctly and it was putting out cold water not hot water.
Very historic feeling - loved the stars on the doors for different people that have stayed in the rooms - kind of sketchy at night time - hallways seem like a maze.
Weird conjoining room hallway - large gap under doors
The ambiance, we felt we went back in time.
Everything was great
Location is great. Historic vibe is nice.
The palm tree outside the window needed serious trimming. It prevents light from entering the room. Remote control for television was not working.
It was a good location at a very reasonable price. The breakfast at the restaurant which was paid was inexpensive and good quality. Staff was very nice.
We stayed in the old part of the hotel, and it had a smell of an old building. The walls between the rooms were not sufficiently damped and so we got to listen to the festivities on both sides.
Nothing
Security banged on my door after midnight asking me for my name and color and make of my car. There was no hot water for shower. When checking out, I told clerk what happened in the middle of night. He said he knew and there was gliche in security system. No apology.
The inn is old. Furniture in room was old and scratched up. Doors were dirty.
The hotel exudes a strong, toxic chemical odor, possibly masking the lingering scent of old cigarette smoke. The outdated TVs malfunctioned, and the fridge emitted a high-pitched buzzing sound that necessitated unplugging it, resulting in spoiled food. When we raised concerns about these issues with the front desk, they dispatched a maintenance man who instructed us to unplug the fridge and claimed the chemical smell originated from the adhesive used in their new flooring. Both my nephew and I fell severely ill during our stay, and since we booked through Uexperiences, they refused to provide any compensation. Please be cautious of these potential health hazards before making a reservation.
I was originally booked into the older part of the hotel and it was really gross and old. It had been raining and I had no heat and 1 of the tvs didn't work.
The bathroom was so mismatched is was horrible and I don't know why but the sink level was very low.
I was moved into another room in the newer building but that had issues as well. Especially in the bathroom. The shower door had no handle on the inside and was dirty with someone's hair and soap particles on the wall.
Great price, huge room, comfy bed, and cool extras like the wine bar and neat old wood-paneled interiors.
N/A
I love the old historic charm of this place, from the window box seats in many of the rooms, where one can sit down and read — while looking out the window, too! — to the delicious and reasonably priced breakfasts. And the beds — Oh, SO comfortable and soft!
Some of the furniture is a little scratched. But so what?
The historic/ original aspects were nice.
The shower for our room was ridiculous
The first room we got was smelling like old cigarettes, the front desk was really helpful and got us another room.
The overall standard on the second room was really bad, (see pictures). The pool was said to be out of order and had alot of leaves in it, the hot tub was green color of algies and the sauna was out of order.
I adressed the issued with the reception, but they would not refund the first night since we had checked in. Not sure how we would discover all these issues without checking in.
Also the compressor of the AC was turning on troughout the night even we had turned it off.
We decided to leave the next day. This is the first time we have decided to check out early
That famous people did go there back in the days. But than I found out on Google that its haunted.
