I liked everything for the most part. Not bad overall.
How loud the ac unit was.
The room was ground floor which was great. It was a very busy weekend so the parking was an issue. The room itself was ok but needed a dresser style piece of furniture and a better mini fridge. The location was good - right across from The Island which made it easy to walk to.
The lack of a dresser to put your clothes in and having no bench style seat in the shower. Mini fridge was pretty small.
The staff was very friendly. The pool area was amazing. Liked the food .
It was very dated.
I never write reviews but felt compelled to after we walked into our room. We were put into a 3rd floor corner room with a window that looked out at a wall with zero exterior sunlight. The room was also very stuffy and smelled of mildew. It was apparent the room had not been used in some time and the ac hadn’t been turned on in a while. When we asked about changing rooms we were told it was the only one left unless we wanted to move to a room in the opposite corner of the property facing the back with a smaller bathroom. We decided to keep our room and make the best of it. When we pulled back the comforter the bed was completely soiled; urine, feces, and blood stains covered the entire bed. We immediately called downstairs and told that we wanted our money back. The manager got on the phone with us and didn’t ask any questions, just requested that we leave the keys and breakfast vouchers in the room and they would refund our money. We have since been charged an additional night and are still waiting for our refund. We have been business travelers with Marriott for over 18 years, stayed at over 600 hotels, and this is not what we have come to expect from Marriott.
Close to everything
You can hear the neighbors all night long because the doors shut hard
I rarely leave reviews, but this stay was extremely disappointing.
I had to move rooms twice during my stay, which significantly disrupted my trip. The first issue was being woken up at 4am by loud dumpsters being emptied right outside my room. After requesting a room change, the next room had a leak, requiring me to pack up and move again.
In the following room, my key did not work properly, adding yet another layer of inconvenience.
What was most frustrating, however, was the handling of the situation. Communication from management was misleading, and the resolution offered did not reflect the level of disruption and inconvenience caused.
Overall, this experience fell far below expectations and made what should have been a relaxing stay unnecessarily stressful.
The location was great. It was right off the parkway and had enough parking. The room was decorated nicely too.
It wasn’t the cleanest - the floor needed a good sweeping and mopping, the rugs between the beds slid terribly, there was only one elevator and only one ice machine for the entire property.
Terrible experience from beginning to end.
I understand that my room rate was higher than usual due to what is likely spring break and vacation demand, and I completely acknowledge this factor. So I assume the price I paid per night was demand adjusted because I expected a much, much higher quality experience overall given the extremely high per night price. That being said, this review is primarily about the condition of the room and the overall experience upon arrival.
Upon checking in, there were several issues that significantly impacted my stay:
First, the overnight check-in experience was lacking. The staff member who assisted with check-in did not provide any explanation or information regarding the breakfast vouchers or related details, which led to avoidable confusion the following morning. The morning after check in when we attempted to go to breakfast, the person explained we needed the breakfast vouchers and that the overnight check in person was SUPPOSED to explain this to us provide us the vouchers. He did neither for us (explain the situation or provide the vouchers) and the morning desk person made no efforts to help or make things right. All she did was tell us what was supposed to have happened. What I kept telling her was what actually happened. So we were at an impasse. She did provide two breakfast vouchers for this first day and left it at that. I had to get my credit card travel customer service involved (Manuel) who spoke to Brittney. My credit card customer service resolved this issue and we were able to obtain the remaining vouchers. All the morning front desk person had to do was a) apologize for the inconvenience and b) say she would help to set things straight by giving us the entire stay's worth of vouchers. She did neither of these things and told me I had to speak with Brittney (the manager).
Second, and most concerning, the door lock to our room was severely loose—on both the interior and exterior sides of the door. The hardware was unstable to the point that it was nearly coming off the wall. This posed a serious safety concern. Fortunately, I happened to have a small toolkit with me and was able to temporarily resecure the lock using Allen wrenches. While I’m glad I could address it myself, this is not something a guest should ever have to do, and it raised concerns about room inspections and guest safety.
Lastly, we discovered several/multiple bugs in the room that appeared to be carpet beetles (see image; let's be clear -- the image is authentic; it is both geo-tagged and time-stamped on my phone for the time and location in the room) or a similar beetle species. Given that carpet beetles can lay larvae and spread through fabrics, this created understandable concern. This is wholly unacceptable and we're now afraid we've brought carpet beetles or whatever this was back to our home. This was a dreadful experience overall.
Location
It says the pool was heated clearly was not !!
Said 6 beds in two adjoining rooms and the sofa bed is wooden it’s more like a seat not a bed at all! It plainly said it was 6 beds in the two rooms
We show up with 8 people expecting 6 beds was not !!! Also they aren’t set up to be kid friendly they said no snack or machines for drinks ! Rooms are already running down! I wouldn’t recommend in less u had to ! Was clean not comfy at all!
The room was spacious. The service was excellent from the front desk to the delicious food at the restaurant.
Absolutely nothing was bad or disappointing.
Had a horrible experience from the moment we arrived, we were sitting in our room right after checking in and a cleaning lady decided to bust in our door with out knocking. They do have breakfast, but it’s ordered from a menu and when you receive it, it’s cold. We was told they would take care of it when we checked out, but they didn’t do anything. Found crackers in the couch, found pubic hairs in the shower and on the bed.
Staff was awesome
Nothing
The aesthetic was charming and the breakfast food was fantastic but it could do with a little more attention to detail
My friend pointed out that this was likely a former motel that could do with a little more fixing up
