The staff was great
After waking up sick, we found mold in the room.
My wife is very sensitive to mold since 911.
Customer service was courtesy
We was there for 4 days and Noone clean our room and it smell mildew in our room
I have used Hilton hotels for the past eight years currently a diamond member and a project manager of a company that travels and rent multiple rooms. I had to work out of town got in late. Didn’t really get a chance to book a hotel online or in person at an earlier time. I stopped by this hotel and I would not recommend period. Due to it was 5 o’clock in the morning had not slept all night and I was willing to pay for two nights just so I could get some rest. Manager/host was very uninviting and said he could not book a room (maybe I was inconveniencing him at his job) So what is the point of a hotel? I hope this dude remembers me and reads this review because I’m driving four hours back home and I have been up close to 27 hours. I absolutely refuse to stay in a no tell motel, I tried two different Hilton properties. The other two were booked full or at least that’s what they told me. I’m going to enjoy my bed back in NC and I believe I may change my hotel preferences other than Hilton properties. I have stayed at other Hilton properties. They had no problem, taking my money and giving me a room. Maybe it’s management.
We have always like Hampton Inn. This establishment seems a bit old. The staff were friendly and accommodating. Whenever we needed new towels every couple of days, and I would go to the front desk, there was always someone there with a smile and willing to get them for me. The woman who worked on the morning breakfast always said "good morning" with a smile. This also seemed a very busy hotel, as the parking lot was pretty full each evening. As to reasons for not giving it 5 stars. The area by the elevator was always warm as there seems to be no airflow there. There was only ONE luggage carrier, and it was very small and never available. (I had to make 3 trips to our vehicle to retrieve all our luggage for our six night stay). The room, though comfortable, was very crowded. The bathroom was very small and wall paper was pealing away on one edge. The back side of the door, did not have a place to hang your towel, although there was some left over hardware suggesting there had been a hook at one point. The door itself seemed like an "entrance" door, as it was very thick and heavy with a handle and not a door knob. The mattress cover on one bed had a large coffee stain on it. The phone had a red light that blinked saying that there was a message. When I called the front desk, they told me simply to ignore it, but the light never stopped blinking. We finally unplugged the phone and hid it. I used the fitness room daily for exercises for my back. It was very small and crowded, although it seemed all the machines worked. The flag pole out front never had an American Flag on it. Again, the staff were very nice, but I feel that this establishment seems like it could do with a good bit of updating.
DO NOT STAY HERE! STAFF WILL STEAL YOUR BELONGINGS! My AirPod Max was stolen from my bag when I left out of the room (maintenance man was the only person that been in the room). The place smells of mildew and the humidity is high in the rooms. The maintenance man offered a fan and put humidity absorbers in the room. I reported to manager about property being stolen, she just looked at me like I was crazy and said there was nothing she could do, while the maintenance man stood there and said oh I can check in the room an look around to see if I see them….like wtf. Police wouldn’t do anything. DO NOT STAY HERE!

Worst hotel I ever stayed at. Smelled of mold, disgusting blankets, no pressure out of the sink faucet, dirty sheets, you name it!
Breakfast was good
Exercise room was too small
Always a pleasure to stay at the Hampton Inn Chester South. Friendly greeting at the front desk. Very accommodating when an extra blanket was requested. Quick, easy breakfast in the morning. Looking forward to next visit.
Just don't. Tiny outdated rooms. The parking lot is dark. The hotels is next to I-95 and road noise is a problem Its plain the operator is not investing in the property. The furniture is vintage 1990's. It is not a quality Hampton Inn experience. It will probably rebranded something down market soon. In addition, there is a five dollar hidden parking fee in Chester, VA. Parking was not disclosed upfront during booking. It is buried under amenities in the hotel website and not included when booked or shown as to be paid at the property when booked. Don't reward drip-pricing and practices. The operator appears to be afflicted with naked greed.
Location was great
The ceiling look like the rain had come down, and it needed repairs
Room
Food. Breakfast could be better. Some bacon. Se scrambled eggs would have been way better than that sausage and folded egg
The breakfast was great!
Check in and check out were very easy. The staff was very friendly and sent text messages checking to see if everything was ok. They had a coffee bar that was open 24hours which was very nice. The room was clean and very quiet. This was our 2nd time staying here and we will come back again.
The room was very clean, BUT it had a very strong MILDEW smell. I attempted to get another room, same MILDEW smell. The staff tried to accomodate, and was aware of the issue. I will not stay there again. Air Quality was HORRIBLE
