Breakfast extremely simple buffet
Very noisy bar below
Good shower with consistent temperature.
Bed was comfortable.
Sockets by bed.
Close to shops, restaurants etc.
The main problem was the noise. On one of the three nights I stayed, the pub/club was very busy downstairs and very loud, even though my room was on the second floor. Also there was continual humming noise in room - sounded like boiler or generator or something. If it hadn’t been for the noise I would have scored this hotel more highly.
The hotel is very well located. You can walk from there to all Jesmond's main attractions, the Waterfalls, the Old Mill, Pets' Corner and St Mary's Chapel and the park. There is a great walking area around, which can be easily accessed on foot from the hotel.
You can also walk easily from there to the city centre or take metro from West Jesmond Station.
Jesmond is a really nice area, leafy and safe with lots of nice cafes, restaurants and shops.
The main thing is the bar. The hotel is connected to the bar, which is very popular with the students and gets crowded and busy almost all week round.
But it shuts at 11 pm so after that the hotel is peaceful until late afternoon the following day.
The price is really good and the place is hand for travelling around the city.
The breakfast is not standard.
Ideal location
Nothing
It was central to bars and restaurants - good value for money.
Was quite noisy up until about midnight - it’s on a busy road so certain amount of noise is to be expected. It’s a basic breakfast of toast cereal and pastries - we just thought it would be a usual b&b but it was ok. You can pay extra for hot breakfast- on the booking it just said B&B.
Good location
I didn't like that my room was over the pub strenuous loud music that keeps you awake and the noise of screaming people
Clean but run down
Took. 59 damage waiver which gives a hostel feeling not 180 for a night room. Very run down building
Lovely hotel in the best buzzing leafy area of Newcastle, close to supermarkets, shops and many bars, the metro is like 3 min walk too and the wonderful park, the Jesmond dene super close. I enjoyed my stay, staff very friendly, beds were very clean, warm and comfy, the bathroom renovated, really clean and there is kettle and coffee and tea in the room with milk, and hairdryer. I would totally go back as the price is good for the location, only small downside was walls quite thin but that would not stop Ms from going back. Also parking at the back was handy. Thanks
Just a small downside with thin walls but that would not stop me from going back .
Nice friendly staff were lovely
Was ok breakfast very basic
Breakfast was great
