If you love art, stay here. If you value helpful and considerate staff and dining, stay here. If you want location, this is it. My wife uses a rollator to get about, and we had no trouble getting to the Cathedral, to Georgia O’Keeffe, to restaurants and shops.
The location and parking was perfect. Breakfast was relaxing and yummy! I'm disabled so the hotel was perfect for me.!
I LOVED my rooom 702!
The concierge service was outstanding & very helpful.
I only had dinner at the restaurant the first night we were there.
Having to walk outside to get to my room, bc of the construction was a nuisance!
The location is excellent. The original artwork in the rooms is outstanding. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The hotel is an historic gem, and very comfortable.
What’s not to like?
Close to the town square. Parked at the hotel & walked everywhere. Great concert in the square.
Not a fan of the food they offered on their dinner menu. Not the restaurants fault.
LOCATION. ALL FACILITIES. FRIENDLY STAFF
Great location. Beautifully maintained. Historic and charming.
Beautiful building and comfortable bed
Loud construction and too much walking up and down stairs
La Fonda is currently undergoing a fairly extensive remodel, so things are a little awkward, but honestly they are handling things pretty well considering.
La pasuela restaurant was great as always, service very very good, yes it's a few dollars more than other restaurants, but in my opinion, although high priced, it's almost justified,I didn't pay grudgingly.
The location of the hotel is great. It is right across from the town square and a short walk to everything.
You have to physically walk your bags from the valet parking to the hotel lobby. I mean go out on the street with pedestrians and walk your bags outside, down the block and to the hotel doors and then inside to the front desk. My mother asked for a quiet room on the 1st floor, and they put her in the absolute loudest room possible. It was right next to housekeeping, the entrance for the spa and gym and commotion started at 6am and ended around 10pm. Our Nespresso machine in the room wasn't working, it took at least 3-4 hours and several phone calls to fix. My room had no "fitted sheets" on the beds. I called and asked for some and was told they don't use fitted sheets. So, I slept on a small mattress pad. The gym is very small, and all of the stair step cardio machines were out of service. 2 people cannot work out using the "free weights" at the same time. There are not enough weights and not enough room. For the nightly price tag, I did not feel it was worth it.

We make the short drive from Colorado Springs to Santa Fe at least once a year because we love it so much, and we always stay at La Fonda on the Plaza! Over the years, we've gotten quite spoiled on the amenities, details, location, exceptional service, and delicious food (at La Plazuela), as well as their appreciation for art and history. We highly recommend staying here (or at their sister property, Pinon Court).
We had a very nice one-night stay at this Santa Fe institution. Hotel is a great mix of traditional southwestern design with up-to-date conveniences. Great location in central old town Santa Fe. Room and bath were clean and spacious.
Location, atmosphere, historic past, and the artwork.
Access to food and beverages after 9:00pm is non-existent.
My husband had a lovely, albeit short, stay at the La Fonda. We both really appreciate the history of the hotel. Vibes, apart from the somewhat brusque (not warm) reception staff, were great. Our room was immaculately clean, bed and bed linens were clean and comfortable, towels were clean and cuddly. Bath products were high end. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would have been happy to stay longer! Hot tub wasn't hot but that's hardly even worth mentioning (we weren't staying in the winter).
We had been there about 15 years ago and loved the La Fonda. This time it was under renovation and you had to walk a half a block on the street to check in and every-time you wanted to get or return your car. The room was small and with a king bed there was little room to watch TV or unpack your luggage. We remembered the Bell Tower bar but its closed for renovations. The service was good, employees were professional and very helpful. Room was very clean.
La Fonda is the heart of old Santa Fe, with the bustle and color of history. Its spaces and views are Old Money with a Native cachet. The restaurant was lovely for evening elegance.
The hotel was undergoing massive renovation, which wasn't noted on Booking.com; chaos in the lobby. Gift store prices for water/snacks were rapacious.
