The hotel made our 33rd anniversary memorable.
Pros:

The breakfast was excellent. The service was outstanding.

Cons:

There was not a parking attendant in the garage at the time we were leaving. We attempted to leave oa 6 AM. We had to wait for a security guard to arrive to locate our car in valet parking. It delayed our departure by at least 30 minutes.

Stayed at this hotel many times 35+ years; asked if it was my first stay!
Pros:

Breakfast room is lovely, service was good, food excellent.

Cons:

Room: On check in, I got a key and headed to a first floor room. When I saw how dark the corridor was, and near to an exit, I knew I would not sleep well there, and returned for a different room. Second floor room was fine first night. On Monday at 6 AM I was startled awake by loud noises just outside my window. A truck was idling, unloading its contents for a half hour or more. As it left, it had a loud beeping sound as it backed up. I fell asleep again, only to hear another truck a short while later. Repeat frustration, unable to sleep. After a call to the front desk for another room, they said I would need to pack up. That afternoon I got my 3rd room for my 3 night stay. It was in a great location, no street noise.

It was horribly over priced with sub par service
Pros:

We were incredibly disappointed in our stay. when we checked in the guy gave us no information about where our room was and had to ask multiple times if we could get help with our car. No one cleaned our room, we had to call to gets beds made. Bathroom supplies not refilled, half used kits not replaced. Water for coffee that was supposed to be clean water was not filled. Trash not emptied. This is not the service of a $400 dollar a room night. We felt like we got horribly taken advantage of with no recourse

The La Fonda is the place to stay if you're visiting downtown Santa Fe.
Pros:

The room and the housekeeper staff on our floor was excellent. The valet service was excellent as well. We never had to drive anywhere but we know there is much more to see in downtown Santa Fe. In room coffee was great as well.

Pros:

The restaurant in the hotel was phenomenal! We still talk about our meal and cocktails and will return simply for that. The hotel is incredibly dog friendly which was wonderful and the location to everything was nice and close. There was live music and the room was comfortable! Really cool property!

Cons:

Parking was a little difficult and unloading was hard with a big SUV. We only stayed one night and needed to get on the road by 5am but we had a difficult time finding staff to get our car out of the garage so that was problematic.

Not cheap but a treasure if you appreciate Southwest art and architecture
Pros:

Very historic. The artwork everywhere was exceptional. This is a historic and architectural gem. The room and bath was surprisingly large considering it dates to 1929. Updated of course.
