I have been to this hotel numerous times over the years and it was always pleasant - until now. Upon arriving, the automatic entrance doors (there are two sets), were shut tight. I had to manually open them to enter. I was apologetically told that the doors were broken. They remained so--and often wide open--throughout my 3-day stay, during which the outside temperature hovered in the 20's, so you can image how cold the lobby and first floor hallways were.
As I was unpacking, I saw numerous stains on the carpet. I found only a few (Kleenex) tissues in the bathroom and a few paper towel sheets in the kitchen. And the closet sliding door was off-track. I was unable to fix it. I reported this to the front desk when I requested more tissue and paper towels. I watched as the young lady added this issue to a long list on a pad. The next day I discovered that the iron was broken at the base, though it still worked.
The morning breakfast offerings were poor compared to past visits; less fruit, fewer hot items and what was hot was not particularly appealing.
The day before leaving, I tried to print Boarding Passes (there is a Business Center near the lobby), but the computer was “locked.” The on-screen message: “Access Denied. License Expired.” Nobody at the front desk could explain it, nor did they offer to do anything about it, which was surprising.
After filling out the post-stay questionnaire, in which I noted these issues, I received a somewhat lame apology from the hotel, so I wrote to Marriott Guest Relations, in Bethesda, MD but I never got a response.
Absent a remodel and new management, I won't be staying here again.
It was quiet, and mostly clean. The beds were ok.
The desk clerk that checked me in. He wasn't personable, he was rude, he didn't have a name tag on.
We were in town for a softball tournament immediately pulling into the parking lot we were a little worried about the area very rundown… we check in the lobby looks okay… we passed a boil advisory listed on the elevator which we were not advised of on check in….. we get to our room every piece of furniture was covered in dust, baseboards covered in dust and dirt, bathroom shower and wall had mold… no soap in the shower. I asked for all new bedding when we got back to the hotel about midnight because I was no confident in the housekeeping ability to even change the sheets at this point just to be told there were no linens available at that time and I could wait 1-1.5 hours for linens. Very disappointed we trust that when we book a Marriott we are getting a high quality hotel.
Nice location with everything around it
Not worth the cost, barely any amenities
Location and staff.
Pool was horrible and falling apart. Floors were dirty.
No breakfast the little restaurant wasn’t even open in the morning. We ended up having to drive to McDonald’s.
I liked that the property was safe and in a safe area
I didn’t like the breakfast , nothing was fresh. You can tell the leftover food was reused over and over. The container that holds the waffle batter is definitely not being cleaned daily with new batter placed in it. On arrival I checked in pretty early and was able to get breakfast I was disgusted by how the waffle batter had looked. For the batter to separate from whatever was used to mix it that batter had been sitting for a long time. The washer and dryer did not work and I didn’t find that out until my second night there. That’s something should be told to guest on arrival. I had to leave out for workout around 5am couldn’t get a hold of the front desk clerk. Finally I get someone on the phone line for assistance. I was given a key that did not work, so I came back down to front desk picked up the phone and it was busy. I called for the guy knocked on the door several times and I finally got his attention 15 mins later. This was absolutely unacceptable if you can’t stay awake on your shift then that’s not the shift for you.
The inside was seemingly well put together minus some repairs and replacements needed on some things.
The mattress was a queen made to look like a king (yes I measured because of the inconvenience of the smaller size) I paid for a king. They had no vending machines for drinks and their lobby store only had two options of nothing desirable. They had no place for water available but had $4 bottles of water. There was nothing in the way of complimentary breakfast and lower rate hotels provide that.
Older, dated property which is off of the beaten path and hard to get to.
The GM was very friendly and welcoming. The bed was nice and the temperature in the room was good.
Right away our toilet clogged from just toilet paper and we had to call and have someone come up right when we got there. The biggest complaint is that almost all of the outlets in the room were loose and wouldn't hold our cords to charge our devices or use our CPAP's. They kept falling out. NONE of them worked right. Very frustrating. Finally, the elevator was dirty and had leaves and debris in it. Just not tidy.
Appreciated the handicap bars on the bathroom.
no continetial breakfast. Fortunately picked up some food at grocery store, we did not know with the weather if we would be snowd in. So we did have something for breakfast, thank you.
Checked in on a Friday night. Went to use the pool-hot tub to find out it was closed. Then decided to go to the bar for a glass of wine because we couldn’t use the pool but the bar-bistro was also closed. Woke up the next morning to use the gym & it was disgusting. Worked out without having trying to touch anything…no water station, no sanitizer…went to get a coffee after working out & there was 2 sketchy looking carafes with powered creamer & sugar packets. Apparently you can pay extra for good coffee at the bistro but there was no staff working to help. I’ve spent a great deal of time traveling & never paid so much for so little & will not be going to a Marriott anytime soon.
Room was clean and ready. Bathroom was clean and very comfortable. Remote control for the TV wasn’t so great. Probably just needed new batteries. Bed was comfortable and pillows were soft.
All in all it was nice and comfortable. Close to several places to eat, Target and Walmart. We would definitely recommend staying here.
We liked the location of the property.
This was the first Marriott we stayed in that needed extensive updating.
