Area for walking was nice
Staff! on the day we checked out, there was a $50 charge to our card. Asked the receptionist, his reply "the hotel had to charge a little extra for incidentals". I ask why wasn't it charged on the day of check-in, we had already been there 2 nights. He didn't have an answer, only that the $50 was on it's way back to the card..... After checking out, we played in a basketball tournament in Norman and realized my son forgot his basketball. After playing, I called back to the hotel to ask if the ball was still in the room. Described the ball and where it was, on the side of the bed close to the window. She placed me on hold, returned and said 2 staff members with housekeeping were looking and placed me on hold again. She returned to the phone and said it wasn't there, I asked if they looked beside the bed close to the window and she said yes, without double checking with the staff members. She said they were the only people to enter the room since we checked out. We checked out at 7 a.m... My son assured me he left it because the team was short a ball. I then did a report online with "ileftmystuff.com" and somehow the basketball just magically appeared. We were prepared to return to pick the basketball up but was told it wasn’t there and therefore had to spend $34 in shipping fees to have the basketball retuned. This could have been avoided if the staff members had done their job.
I enjoyed the patio tho it wasnt open for half the time I was there.
Let's start with checking in early which I thought was a great option the hotel gave us but the housekeeping thought differently. We walked in to our room with the thermostat set at 75°, it was extremely hot and stale in the room. The sheets on the beds were not fitted sheets so all throughout the night they just bunch up underneath you as you try to sleep. Sleeping was difficult, I've stayed downtown Chicago and got more sleep. You can hear people walking, and talking from inside the room. It wasn't cozy or peaceful in the slightest. The bathroom was tiny. Tiny doesn't articulate how little this bathroom was. You can't close the door while on the toilet unless you move near the bathtub past the toilet and close the door then move to the toilet. It was not comfortable or accommodating. I left here broke, because EVERYTHING there was extremely expensive. We order 2 margaritas for $35!!!!! The bartender charged us $2 a drink on top of the price of the margaritas for "preparation". What?!! Isn't that their job, to mix and prepare drinks? This hotel was a rip off. I spent $824 for room, 1 night of drinking and eating at hotel but they charged my card for $1,366. Now I'm waiting for some money to come back. It's ridiculous.
I stayed because the breakfast is usually phenomenal, it was crap. It's like they cut corners now to save, the eggs were watery, the coffee was so strong or old it tasted like i chewed up the coffee beans myself and the bacon wasn't cooked all the way. Half of it was still raw. The entire hotel is hot unless you crank up the ac in your room. They don't ac the hotel in any area, not even in the restaurant, Aria. It was too hot to eat in there, and it was only a 85° day. I would hate to be there on our 100° days here in Oklahoma. This was such a disappointment. I feel like i wasted money, time and time off. The pool didnt even open til 10am and it closed at 9pm.
