It was amazing except for the hot water issue, but they let me check out late so that was badass! I grew up in Bend, 37 years, im so thankful the shilo is still what it is! Crystal the front desk girl was hella friendly and i could tell she felt bad about the hot water thing.
Needs alot of updates. There was a trail of ants next to the hot tub.
I was given an up grade to a room along the river. There is plenty of property to walk around and finish my four miles for today. Office staff was very friendly.
We arrived in town about 8 PM and there was no front desk person. One gal had been working in the office since early morning because other people didn’t show up to work. And there seemed to have been some drama going on with some guests.
The room was spacious. The wash station was separate from the toilet/tub/shower area.
We tried to contact the front desk from 7:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. No one was answering the phone so I used my cell phone to call. They answered. They were friendly. I asked that the laundry outside of our entry door be picked up. It had been there since we started to move our things into the room. I am handicapped. I have been recovering from surgery since November of 2024. We had to use a small flight of stairs from the small parking lot to get into our room [which was difficult to find at first]. We requested something else; I forget what. The laundry was still outside at midnight. We never had our other request fulfilled. When we checked out, we let the staff, who were friendly, know of our concerns.
Bend is a nice location with many options to stay at. We suggest you avoid this Shilo and choose another hotel. We won't be using this Shilo again!
The rug in the room was filthy. The bathroom sink took a long, long time to drain. The faucet in the bathroom sink was very difficult to turn on you had to pull very hard to get decent stream of wate10. Had to let the shower water run for about 10 min. before it got hot. We had reservations for 2 nights but didn’t stay the second night, found a different hotel.
You could tell they were under staffed. The young woman who was working was fantastic, but you could tell she was overwhelmed. They were no cups in the room, and when they were brought to us, I was suprised to see that she was the one bringing them to us. I would definitely stay again, but with keeping this in mind.
Staff at front desk seemed out of sorts- possibly under the influence. Rooms were dirty, linens dirty. Multiple people checked out upon seeing the space. The pictures did not show the depth of the dilapidated facilities.
The check in was great. She upgraded our room. Probably because of it being a slow night. But still great.
Staff said she did an upgrade; I would have hated to see what the original room would have looked like. Not one coffee cup in the room. I did arrive early, quite the attitude. Hotel had hardly any guests. Good thing I got the so called upgrade, they were still cleaning rooms after 5pm.
I was excited about the oversized jetted tub as I'm 32 weeks pregnant, and the Indian restaurant. Unfortunately had to check out early due to my neighbor being concerned for my health since I'm pregnant her room had a gas leak. Mind you I was never made aware of this, now I know why I couldn't use the fireplace. T
Comfortable bed, old faucets were difficult to use. Easy access, friendly staff.
The guy at the front desk was slow & not very personable. Got to room, bed was made, but room was not cleaned (garbage full, stuff on counters, open shampoo in shower, only one towel). Tried to call front desk to complain & phone didn’t work. Bed was comfy.
Tv didn't work most of the day. Steam room unavailable. Staff was great.
Not a bad place for the price!
One of my girlfriends and I stayed for a night after an event in Redmond, drove 20min and when we arrived, older gentleman at front desk was very friendly but when we walked in the room, the comforter was pulled back as if someone got out of bed and there was no housekeeping. The carpet was dirty/stained and disgusting as heck. The bed was comfortable but because we weren't sure if the bedding was clean (likely not considering the comforter), it was just a gross experience. The patio door was unlocked so someone could have broken in and harmed someone. I didnt say anything becauae we arrived at 1:00am after an extremely long day but definitely would never stay again.
I liked the well kept natural surroundings. The buildings could use an update, but were clean. No full sized bath towels were provided, which i didn't think made sense because there is a pool.
I have stayed at Shilo Inns frequently in the past when I was traveling throughout the Northwest for business or personal travel. I have appreciated the value and convenience of most visits, however, this occasion was very disappointing. It seems Shilo Inns are barely hanging on, having cut many amenities that were familiar in the past, such as breakfast, open swimming pools, clean and comfortable rooms. On this visit I learned Shilo does not provide daily breakfasts any longer. Also, the toilet in my room was malfunctioning, the flush valve running every few seconds the entire stay. In addition, when I checked in there was no remote for the television in the room, luckily the front-desk clerk brought one over, and when that one did not work, she was able to go to another room and find one that did work. At least the customer service was appreciated. And probably the worst element of my one-night stay was, when I crawled into bed Saturday night after a fun evening partying at a wedding, I felt something peculiar rub against my leg. I was wearing shorts, and when I pulled back the covers I discovered a used, crumpled up bandaid between the sheets. The bandaid was not mine. I disposed of the item and debated alerting management that perhaps the sheets had NOT been changed prior to my reservation, but as it was nearly midnight I did not have the energy to deal with this situation at that time.
Suffice it to say, due to these issues I will likely not stay at Shilo Inn again.
The spa style bath tub which was the markup amenity for the room, did not work at all. So I paid extra for something that did not work. Check your spa tub immediately when you go into the room. Don’t test it right as you’re about to take a bath…
The lady at the front counter was awesome! Ended up talking for a bit before i got to my room! Made me feel super welcome and my dogs absolutely loved her!
