Easy access to the ocean
The view was very nice. Room was hot, not enough airflow. Pool was not working. Mechanical sound woke us up at 5 am. Bed was very comfortable
This was so mis advertised by hotels.com, there hasn't been a restaurant for 5 years and the pool has been under construction for a few years. The hotel doesn't look like any of the pictures that were shown, the hotel felt so unsafe that we slept with the desk in front of the door. We booked 2 nights and left after the first, was completed disappointed and would never recommend this to anyone.
False advertisement! Beware! Hotels.com has wrong pictures of this hotel. The restaurant has been closed for 5 years. The pool is also closed for repairs. The staff were very friendly. The owner of this property needs to attend to this property!
The rooms are very dated and multiple rooms had dangerous conditions. None working electrical outlets. Too many items plugged into limited outlets. No screens on 3rd floor windows. The staff is incredibly helpful and kind but the building is unsafe and in desperate need of repairs. The pool was closed and no mention of that was made when booking. This caused a very big disappoint for our trip. The view is incredible but for the cost there is much that needs improved
The staff was pleasant and helpful. There was a nice view of the ocean. I would describe the room as a fixer upper. We stayed with 2 queen beds, only one had a nightstand and a bedside light. The bathroom was small and tight. All the onsite restaurants are closed and much of the building for sale. At >$200/night, it is a poor value for the price.
Ocean view
Water pressure is great, noise level not so great. Property clearly hasn't been updated in a long time, pool was not in use (water wasn't filled in pool), and internet was spotty. Otherwise, staff seemed friendly, place was clean, and felt safe.
Great ocean front view.
Restaurant & cafe are permanently closed. Pool area is permanently closed due to disrepair. Room has stale odor, but the sheets were clean.
We were told the local fish factory has rented most of the rooms at this hotel for their migrant workers from Ecuador and Guatemala.
Not worth the price we paid.
Great location. But kinda old and the pool was under construction. We had no prior notice
Great place to stay! The room was a bit dated but was super clean and quiet. The view of the beach & ocean was fantastic. All the amenities were there (fridge, microwave, shampoos & soaps) and they had the most comfortable bed I’ve slept in at any hotel. Staff was helpful and friendly especially the manager (Lance?). Kudos to housekeeping for the well kept room.

So, not a great experience here and not one Hotels.com should continue to use and promote.
Check in was slow due to ‘computer issues’ probably the Windows 94 based system in keeping with the rest of the complex!
Main building was closed for sprinkler systems renovation (lies as the building has been condemned by the local fire department)
Pool was also closed for refurbishing - again closed and condemned!
The room was so tired and in need of upgrading - musty and so dated.
Roof is leaking and gutters missing in places.
The tv and electricals were almost as old as me (and i’m no spring chicken)
A saving grace was the view - through the salt stained and bird muck covered windows.
Clearly in need of knocking down and rebuilding on a prime site (which i suspect is what the owners are waiting for)
It’s dead - just doesn’t know it yet….
Avoid and use elsewhere.
Room was kinda dirty. The lampshades had stains. No turndown service. Pool was closed. Dirty handprints on the wall. Pet fee of $25 a night is ridiculous in a hole in the wall spot like this. No fan in the room for some air movement. Front desk staff was great. Im guessing this one will be torn down and rebuilt before too long.
The room was not clean and we we're informed they don't have housekeeping on the weekends.from the looks of things I don't believe they ever have housekeeping staff .there was hair in the tub and the room smelled .we brought our own blankets luckily.the price was not much lower than the neighboring up scale hotels
Stayed in this hotel several times over the years, including last month, and there's been a sharp decline in amenities, cleanliness, and staffing in the past few years.
Many of the rooms are in disrepair, the staffing levels are critically low, and I'm honestly not sure why it's even still open.
The hotel sits on prime real estate with commanding views of the ocean. I pray that they knock this thing down and build a new mid or upper tier resort. It's becoming a blight on Elizabeth St.
I can't think of a reason to recommend staying here. There are many other better options not too much more expensive in Newport.
Great ocean view! Clean facilities! Responsive staff!
Don’t let them fool you like they did me! They DO NOT have an open pool and have no idea when it’s going to be open again. They DO NOT have a cafe or offer breakfast of any kind. The hotel itself is in poor condition and could use a good remodeling. However, the staff was kind, apologetic, and helpful. The rooms and linens were clean but one of my windows had a broken lock and the curtains wouldn’t shut all the way. I am grateful we were on the third floor so I didn’t have to worry about someone breaking or peeping in.
We really enjoyed our stay and the views were amazing!
We complained about the first room they put us in. The seals on the windows were broken and we couldn't see the ocean. Our second room, very honestly, was the dirtiest room I've ever occupied and the window seals were broken in that room as well. You can see in the photo how very dirty the furniture was. A bad experience. After we got home, we found they had given us a $50 credit on the card. You know, it just didn't make up for the icky feeling we had in that room. We won't go there again....I promise!
