An excellent stay - comfortable, good value for money and lovely hotel staff that were very helpful!
Pros:

The hotel was in a great spot, easy to get to from Takayama station and bus centre, only a short walk. We could also walk to the main shops and Old Town easily within 10 minutes. The room was comfortable and clean, and provided tea and coffee and kettle. The staff were very helpful in recommending restaurants and booking them for us :)

Cons:

We had a lovely stay, I can't think of anything to improve!

Very cozy and comfortable
Pros:

Great location, cozy, clean and comfortable! It was very quiet at night. Staff were friendly. Breakfast was simple and great. We really enjoyed our stay in Takayama and this hotel was really convenient.

Cons:

It was a little hard to find at night. Look for the Eph on the curtain next to the cafe downstairs.

Pros:

Small hotel with attached cafe, friendly and helpful reception staff. The room itself was quite spacious, good space for bags and hanging large jackets, and the beds were relatively comfortable. The bathroom was fantastic, the large timber bath got a lot of use, and large shower space. It was also nice to have the toilet/sink/bath all separated so they could be used at the same time - we found a lot of hotels have the toilet and shower in the same room. Location was super handy to the train line, and also for exploring the rest of the town, easily walkable everywhere, hotel was close to some very tasty food, and cool bars. Laundry facilities provided and found easily availability of machines.

Best room of the trip
Pros:

This little hotel not much more than a hop, skip and jump from the station. Initially I thought I might have made a mistake as it might have been too from town. However it is only 10 minutes stroll. We had the suite up on the top floor and my partner said it was the best room of our trip. The cedar bath is huge. Great view from up there too. The staff are lovely. The girls in the coffee shop downstairs are also lovely. It was nice to just pop down and have a good coffee. Some nice little restaurants within easy walking distance if you don't feel like walking "all the way" into the main town. Definitely would stay there again if visiting Takayama.
