Exotic Beach Hotel

Mosquitoes came through the holes in the mosquito net. Didn't have a good sleep throughout the night. Facilties have to be improved.

Not recommend! Owner charged at the end a "Comission" of 6,20$ in top of the price that was shown in my Booking.com bill. He showed a bill off booking.com with a comission that he most likely has to pay to booking.com and insisted that we have to pay it. The hotel is run by one old and one younger man (Most likely father and son). The older man is very unfriendly, rude and his English very hard to understand. The younger one is more friendly and speaks better english.
Breakfest was medium and the one Water bottle we got was charged.

Nothing. The position is a little bit outside the main Town so It would be probably better if you have your own trasport like a scooter or a tuk tuk. Anyway there are restaurants in the near resorts and the beach is 200 meters away.

The hotel is far away from the city and main road, if you don't have your own vehicle getting around is not easy.
There are no restaurants close by and no restaurant in the hotel, you have to travel 10km to get anything.
The food offered, which was bought from outside lacked cleanliness
The hotel offered Kumana safari for 23K LKR, while the actual price was 15K LKR

The apartments are open near the roof so insects have a few points for entry, so there was just a few insects at night time in the washroom, but if you don't mind them, then no problem.

We saw a few hairs in the bed, so I'm not sure if the linens had been washed after the previous visitors.

In the whole area around the Whisky Bay, there are only a few restaurants and one shop, which is not a big problem when you want to have some relaxing time far away from tourists (and you could buy water at the hotel).

The staff is not in harmony with place, cold people with problems to speak and understand our questions in English. Too busy in thinking about payments and money instead of pleasing our stay. Breakfast very poor and not able to satisfy small requests on the menu.

"A grade place,nice and cozy . Very helpful people working, big room very clean, very generous breakfast and different options. Room very close to beach, nice environment and quiet place next time will come back this place "

Before you read this keep in mind that we booked on the same day during a period when there was almost no tourism.

The accommodation was not nice at this moment. We think this is probably due to the decrease in tourism. We arrived and they did not know that we were coming. They cleaned the houses except for the bathrooms. The bathrooms where quite dirty. Also we did not get blankets. We contacted the host about this but he did not respond at all. We don’t know how the accommodation normally is but at this moment, the money was not worth the stay.

We do want to thank the man who tried to make the best out of our stay, he did that very well and we are grateful for that. We would definitely book again but then let the hosts know ahead of time. We see the potential of the beautiful location and accommodation.
