The Spa at Norwich Inn

The massage was excellent. Can’t count how many times I’ve paid for deep tissue and got Swedish. Not here! The masseuse was amazing. We spoke for a couple minutes first and I listed my achy areas, and again, so many places ask you and then just give you the same old cookie cutter massage, but not here, my masseuse remembered everything and really helped my troubled areas. She was amazing and I’ll be back to book with her again! Only reasons this is a 4 and not a 5 for me. They ran out of flip flops in my size and she told me the slides are unbearable- ok, maybe replace those? so I asked to size up, didn’t have that either, so I was crammed into a size down. Not a huge deal, but it’s an incredibly expensive day there- have enough flip flops to accommodate, cuz that was painful. We had lunch in the main restaurant; I ordered a dirty Shirley after it was recommended..they do have a full bar.. but this came in a can and it was absolutely disgusting. Food was great though.
The 4 hours we were there, the quiet room never had blankets put out. The locker room was mostly clean except for all the trash cans overflowing the whole time. Again, these are small things. But the amount they charge- like they’re perfect- some things could be improved. 5 stars to the masseuse!

People were nice and clean

It is overpriced in general but at the same time it is very nice. There is ample parking and nice facilities. Service options are nice and the quality was great. Food was great.

I went for the day with my adult daughters. Overall Norwich spa is our go-to place when we have the means to spend hundreds of dollars on a day of luxury.
I got a custom massage from Tyson and it was excellent. It included lots of little luxuries like heated towels along with firm pressure, hot stones, aromatherapy, and focus on the trouble spots I wanted to address.

The women's locker room could use a bit of TLC. The steam room was out of order (major bummer), and two shower stalls were out of order. The lockers are a drag because there are manual gears to turn. I can't see the numbers without my glasses, so I could never lock my glasses in the locker. Also, they assigned the 3 of us lockers in a same corner. We were on top of each other and could not open our lockers at the same time. We had to take turns changing clothes.

It think the relaxation room needs more spaces. It's a bummer when you want to sit and read a book but it is full. There isn't anyplace else to go. Also- I REALLY think there should be a clock in there. Its hard relax if you are wondering what time it is before your treatment. I don't use my phone while I am there and I don't wear a watch, so it is disconcerting.

My biggest wish is that phones would be banned. I realize this is probably super difficult to enforce since many people use their phones for relaxing. But for me it is not really comfortable to be in the locker room changing out of a swimsuit or in the spa area in nothing but a robe while around by strangers holding cameras.

I wish there were not so many extra fees, but I understand since you get a lovely experience there.

Disappointed! Not disclosed: Upon arrival, the Inn is undergoing MAJOR maintenance and new roofs, with scaffolding and piles of building materials, along with noise and crews all around. We booked directly, and there was NO mention of the projects at the property. We were looking forward to arriving at the charming Inn, but were greeted with a work site instead. It definitely lost its allure for an autumn birthday escape and walking the grounds - no can do. I mentioned to the front desk upon check-out this morning how disappointing the environment was, making a booking direct with no knowledge of the current conditions of the property, shared that the noise of the crews woke us up quite early, and the most aloof gentleman at the front desk had not a care in the world regarding our experience. I suggested they make it known on their website that they are undergoing renovations, so people have a choice to visit or postpone and not be startled and disappointed. We left feeling this was the worst decision!

Another wonderful stay when in Connecticut. Only stayed the one night, but this lovely inn is close to Mohegan Sun and 30 min from Mystic. The rooms at the inn have all the comforts of home with a bar and a restaurant. Breakfast at Kensingtons is a must as the creme brulee French toast is unbelievable. Place is immaculate, and the staff is friendly. Would like to stay a few days to see all of Mystic and to take advantage of the spa.

Room was small, prices are a bit steep especially for the massages. The hot tubs are seperate for men and women and close at 7pm

I would give it an score of an 8. I choose this property and it's amenities as I was seeking rest & relaxation. It definitely provided that!
There was a snafu in the room when I arrived.The TV wasn't working. I called the front desk and they sent somone within 5 minutes. After trying for a bit with no sucess they called the engineer. He couldn't get the TV to connect to the cable, so he got a TV from an empty room turned
It on and problem solved. Had a working TV in about 20 minutes.
The Spa offerings were great and most of the staff were welcoming, friendly, and had some helpful suggestions of things to do.
I had a scalp massage from Ty and manicure and pedicure from Lex upon my arrival. They did a great job helping me to start relaxing and feel comfortable.
I took the day on Sat.to explore the surrounding towns.
On Sun. I had a morning massage and a enjoyable lunch on the terrace. Service was exceptional!
After lunch, I went into the small indoor pool. It needs some wor. I relaxed outside to dry off in the sunny area. Pool is better suited for exercising and floating as it was only 4ft deep and not very wide.
Late afternoon I recieved hydrating mask facial from Shelly. It and she was amazing!
For dinner I chose to eat at the Kensington inside the hotel. Service was great!
Had the scollop dish which was cooked well, but tasted salty and not sweet like I am used to sea scollops tasting.
I did walk the grounds, but things were looking tired and messy. I would return.
