Location
Staff at reception were rude and unhelpful. Many communications before arriving to ensure 2 connecting rooms and all prepaid so I didn't have to do anything as was a special birthday treat but connecting rooms locked, bookings not correct and staff not interested. Charged for a quay view room and was not at front overlooking Quay was pretty much on top of railway line at the sude.Oh and my poor hubby told them on 4 occasions on telephone, on booking and via email it was my birthday and I even mentioned to reception and no effort at all. Wish I'd read the trip advisor reviews!
Lovely room, great building. Nice central location in Newcastle.
We went on a Saturday night and from 11pm-4am there were people loudly talking and slamming doors. A lady was screaming at 3am—4am and while the staff did come to escort her out after that time, bringing this up to the concierge was met with “that’s a shame” which for not getting enough sleep was a bit of an understatement.
The location was perfect, friendly staff, very comfortable rooms and very good breakfast.
Could have had a hand rail to get in and out of the shower, which was over the bath.
