Not as good as it could be and car park charges exorbitant
Pros:

Breakfast was good. Room not very big. Door key didn’t work. Light slot not good. Ordered room service which took nearly 2 hours to arrive! Shame as a great location but it is undergoing refurbishment. Car park is £20 per 24 hours!!!! Staff were nice.

Cons:

Bed not very comfortable, small room, no safe, room service which was only a pizza and wedges took nearly 2 hours to arrive!

Cons:

I was moved to an alternative location 15 minutes walk from the original hotel meaning I was not located in the same hotel as my team.
This was a huge inconvenience.

The Vermont gave us an excellent base for our trip to Newcastle.
Pros:

We had another very comfortable stay at the Vermont. The hotel itself is comfortable and oozes class, especially in it's concierge service. Paul and his colleagues whom we met during our stay were exeptionally warm and helpful - in negotiating the new parking arrangements and in making sure that I was able to quickly return and collect a piece of luggage I had left behind. The other staff that we encountered were welcoming and helpful too, all aspects of the stay that raise it above average.

Overall acceptable but not the best value for money I’ve ever had.
Pros:

Good location and friendly staff, only eat breakfast in the hotel and this was fine.

Cons:

The room was a little tired in terms of decor and the carpet didn’t look like it had been properly hoovered for a while. There was no in room safe which is a basic requirement as far as I’m concerned.

Pros:

I've stayed in the Vermont before and loved it. This time I didn't get to stay there and was relocated because of a maintenance issue.

Cons:

I was moved to the sister Hotel, The County Hotel. If I had wanted to stay there I would have booked there. The reservation transfer was not smooth, the room there pretty poor, and breakfast a fiasco. I'm annoyed I didn't get what I had booked and I had no choice in the matter.

Great location, shame about the nightclub noise
Pros:

Great location for the city centre, very clean and comfortable. Lovely to see doorman on duty who were very pleasant, particularly Paul. However our overall rating is reduced for the noise from the hotels night club. Our room was above the night club which were unaware of until the music started and finished at 2 30pm. Earplugs were provided next to the bed which should have been a big clue! This would put us off visiting on a Friday and Saturday which is a shame as otherwise the hotel was everything we were looking for.

Cons:

See above
