Clean hotel, friendly service, a great stay
Pros:

We had a great time at this hotel! The rooms and common areas were really well kept, our request for more towels and a garbage bag was fulfilled within minutes, and I wanted to give a special thanks to Cathy and Yolanda for making our breakfast even better than the normally-great experience it has been. Both of them went out of their way to make sure our morning meal was pleasant and we appreciate them caring about our morning getting off to a good start. Thank you!

Christmas in July!?! oh yes, they did…
Pros:

What a wonderful experience! From beginning to end, we had the pleasure of Catherine’s assistance, making our family feel welcome. We went up to visit Family in Auburn, and stayed an extra night because of Christmas in July! Elf was on the big screen in one of the conference rooms to accent the Christmas experience and my son could not be happier ( one of his favorite Christmas movies).
Big Santa knuckle bumped my son and bringing popcorn and Hawaiian lays for all the viewers! To top it off there was a pool party with a family, friendly environment, beach, balls, floaty, toys And DJ Raza mixing it down and even asking the crowd if the volume was OK for everyone. Bringing it home, Santa grilled up sliders, fruit juices were available for the whole family, and even some healthy fruit icy in the cooler, fruit and pasta salad for all the guests.
Will we go back, of course, maybe just to enjoy the Sunday poolside experience, and definitely anytime we go into the Sierra’s to visit Family or to Tahoe.
This is a full service hotel with spa, Kitchen, and don’t forget breakfast included for the kids! Full on family value all the way around, smiles ear to ear all the way home and the kids slept like angels from an eventful weekend. Thank you, thank you, thank you to all! Keep up the great teamwork.

Outstanding!!
Pros:

Outstanding hotel and staff! The complementary shuttle service is such an added bonus. Not only did it get us from the hotel to Old Town, but Cathy went out of her way to take my father and I on a tremendous downtown tour to see the sites and provide local insights and history. 10 out of 10 stay. Will def be back.

Beautiful Location---Food Service Issues
Pros:

We stayed here for one night (a Sunday)---we were on a long road trip, and just came in without a reservation. This Marriott property is a former Springhill Suites which has had a name change so it can be re-characterized as a resort (probably to be able to raise the room rates). It can be confusing, because it's still listed as a Springhill in some travel sources. We thought we were coming to a Springhill (and so did our GPS).

The hotel sits atop a big hill right off the interstate, and has great views. It has a pretty lobby, a nice bar area, and restaurant. Our king suite was very nice. The room is not actually two rooms, but two partitioned areas (like the old Springhill). It had a good-sized bathroom with a good shower. Very nice, but a bit pricey for a smaller town like Auburn at well over $200. Be aware that there is a $20/night "amenity fee" added to the bill. I guess what qualifies this as a "resort" is the hilltop setting and the outdoor pool area which has a large patio where you can dine.

Food and bar service was a pretty big problem. It was a Sunday, and they seemed to be short-staffed. The restaurant at dinner was not crowded, but it took a long time to get a cocktail at the bar, then dinner at our outside table took forever. It's hard to believe that it took so long (almost a two hour meal) when there were only a few people there. There was a party of 10 or so in a covered area next to the pool, but they had finished their meal before we were seated. Overall, the hotel has a beautiful location, nice rooms, and a lovely outdoor patio. Enough for 4 stars despite the food service issues.

Great Service!
Pros:

This is a great hotel if visiting the Auburn area or on the way to Tahoe or elsewhere. The rooms are great, with all the amenities (living area, microwave, fridge, etc.). But most of all the people that work there are so friendly and accommodating, from the front desk, to the Terrace restaurant, etc. But the topper was that when we had an air conditioning issue - maintenance came immediately to check it. And came back shortly after that with an entirely new air conditioner, installed it litetally in minutes (like a pit crew!), and were out the door. Thanks so much to David and Norman who were so incredibly efficient!! (Their service was like being at the Four Seasons!). We will enjoy the rest of our stay here in cool respite from the heat!

Very practical, mitigate feeling on service but overall great for our needs
Pros:

Great location, and views are great. Pool and jacuzzi and good. Breakfast ok but missing bread.
Room space was great and clean.

Cons:

The housekeeper who needed to check on our departure just knocked on the door. When we opened we said hi and she wasn’t very pleasant and responding and just said that she needed to check if we were still here. We didn’t feel that this was very great.
