Starlight Inn La Brea

The front desk attendant could not speak English. The card did not work when I got to my room. Tough neighborhood.

It was great thanks for tha hospitality

I arrived at 7:30 and they said the room was not ready and to come back in an hour. I returned an hour later to see that they barely knocked on the door to get the people out and clean. Still not ready by 9:45pm. No parking, dirty place, and sketchy.

Everything is good

Cannot believe I was staying at this dirty ass room for 140$

It seems like there is jumping and running upstairs on 2nd level!

My stay was not good. I made a mistake with booking the wrong dates. I meant to do it for next week instead of this week.
I wrote an email to the property to change the dates but I never heard back. And I think they just went ahead and charged me the May 3-4 anyway.

It was small but clean and good

I reserved and paid through expedia and they almost did not accept the reservation and almost made me pay again.

Used towels with hair all over them, used soap in the shower with mold, the sink water was over pressurized, and the only 2 pillows on the bed were flat and small.

But on the bright side they had a cool light in the room for ambience.

Good place to stay in. Comfortable and quiet neighborhood. Close to activities and tourist areas.

Needs Major Maintenance!

Romantic night was planned bcuz we had a hot tub we expected more towels than usual wasn't Worth the money paid for room

I travel a lot for work and stay at motels often to help save money. Its usually for one night, so no big deal. The rooms at Starlight are comfortable and clean, my only complaint being the cardboard thin pillows. The pillows (I kid you not) where at most 2 inches thick each.

The bigger concern? SAFETY. One, when I checked in, rather than checking for my hotels.com reservation, the lady at the front desk assumed I was a John who needed the room for a few hours for a hookup. Which, I'm annoyed to say was the room next to me. They had plenty a good time as the guy next to me had several loud ladies over all night.

Then there was the homeless guy. Throughout the evening he walked the property banging on doors, yelling at people and even setting things on fire in the parking lot. At one point I called the lady at the front desk and told her "hey, there is a fire in the parking lot" and she said "its OK - that guy is a frequent guest." I tried finding a hotel nearby with rooms at that point... but no luck. So I decided to truck it out.

11pm - the owner shows up for a hot minute and kicks the guy off the property. That lasts about 2 minutes.

8am - The homeless guy is chasing a family with two young kids to their car waving a bottle at them and screaming. The hotel owners and front desk did nothing.

Don't stay here if you value comfort or safety. Wish I was making this up.

We saw a roach on the wall, bathroom door wouldn't lock

Nice spacious room, had a mini fridge, safe parking, big bed but the pillows were pretty flat and the shower head was taped on so the water was spraying out of the shower..not much you could do. Other then that it was a great place to stay!

Easy midnight check in. Quite and feels safe.
Sub par room, but you get what you pay for.

I was staying one night and my sleeping was inturreped by the beside room the whole night.
