Don’t even try checking in between 3-6pm. They aren’t fully booked or even busy. You’re obviously American or from a country where that price isn’t unusual. Who else would pay $200 for a room in a city known for crime & violence. Your wait is so long because they refuse to allow you to bring up your own luggage or walk yourself to your room . They make sure concierge (1 person) takes you (gotta get that tip $$$). The only thing this place is concerned about is about how much $ you’re forking over.
If you’re an American DO NOT stay here unless you want to be double charged for a room (after already staying 3 nights) & have the rude manager blatantly disregard this. I booked 2 nights through booking.com & paid for another with the hotel when I arrived. A glitch happened while trying to book another night here on booking.com & it booked me for the date I already paid for. The manager REFUSED to change the dates to the correct ones & after calling booking.com customer service I was told it was absolutely not a problem & sometimes this mistake happens if you happen to leave the app & return to it, even moments later. All the hotel had to do was approve the date change on their end & the manager WOULD NOT!!!! The booking.com agent on the phone said in the 11 years working there that they had never experienced a hotel do this to someone. Mind you, this is the most expensive hotel in TJ & I planned on getting spa services, had spent well over $1000 in accommodations & room service daily (It was not even the first time staying there spending that kind of $$). They don’t offer late checkout. WE WERE TREATED AWFUL! Save yourself the blatant discrimination & disrespect.
The hotel across the street was half the price, the people working the front desk were the NICEST & most accommodating (free late checkout) they have 3 casinos, room service, & even have spa treatments available from 7am-11pm daily.
