Decent place to stay but if I ever go back to Spearfish I'd try someplace else. Stayed for 2 nights. First night, no wifi. Went to call the front desk and the phone in the room didin't work. Called front desk on my cell phone and they said there was nothing they could do about that.
Decent location - we wanted some place that was within an hour or so of Devils Tower and Mt Rushmore. Checked those boxes. Short drive to the restaurants in downtown Spearfish.
Breakfast was what you would expect at a Fairfield Inn.
Very clean and quiet. The staff were very friendly. Breakfast was normal for this type of hotel.
This property must have management issues.
The staff does not seem to be trained properly in the hospitality, industry, and customer service.
There were no luggage carts available at check-in.
The breakfast was horrible. The eggs were overcooked. We could not eat them. They were constantly running out of items. They had a plaque out offering cheese omelettes. When we asked for a omelette, they said they were out of them. The breakfast area was dirty.
We even had to ask for napkins.
They have a 12 noon check out. We had a do not disturb sign on our door and the housekeeping staff knocked on two separate occasions two hours before check out.
We asked for a receipt at checkout and they could not provide one because they said they were having printer issues.
We realize that the Fairfield Inn and suites is a lower level Hotel offered by Marriott. However, we would’ve expected more from the Marriott brand.
I would not stay at this property unless you’re just looking for a very basic stay with no services.

The staff at the hotel was amazing. They were very friendly, accommodating and went above and beyond to help us out.

Had a little problem sleeping as the wind was blowing hard and something was banging outside the window
The location right off of I-90 was perfect for our one night stay. It was very clean and the bed was quite comfortable. The breakfast included hot options of eggs, bacon, and waffles.
The room was somewhat small.
