Quiet and charming
Pros:

This family-run holiday apartment block is tucked away a few minutes walk up the hill from Peguera. It has an authentic, slightly old-fashioned feel, so that you can feel like a proper travelling guest rather than a generic tourist. No traffic noise.

There are a couple of supermarkets just a few minutes walk away, Lidl for a budget option, and Mercadona for a slightly more upmarket experience, with a proper charcuterie and fresh fish counter. Eroski is another, smaller supermarket on the way into town, which has longer opening hours, so if you choose not to eat at one of the many restaurants and tapas bars in town, there are many options for self-catering. Beside Eroski is a Chinese "general store" which sells almost everything except food, so if you need something oddly specific, you can almost certainly find it there.

The apartment block sits beside a small pool area with sun loungers and a simple little bar and shop. The proprietor, Jamie, or one of his family are invariably posted nearby, and ready to respond to requests or gentle conversation, but always polite and respectful of those that prefer to keep to themselves. I got the impression that some of the people we encountered in the bar were friends of the proprietor, or at least frequent visitors.

Our apartment was clean and pleasant, with an adequate kitchen area, including microwave, a flat-bed toaster and a ceramic hob. Tea towels and dish detergent were provided, which was great, and the most essential utensils were available, although if you are especially keen to prepare food during your stay, you might consider bringing a proper sharp knife, because the small fruit knife in the drawer was only really suitable for a bit of rough chopping. Consider also bringing some dry herbs or seasoning, unless you are prepared to buy those when you are in Mallorca. Good selection of pots and pans. We cooked fresh fish almost every day and scarcely needed to eat out, so I can make no comments on the local restaurants.

We did not use the TV because Wi-FI is provided, and we had our own devices. USB power sockets beside the beds in the main bedroom is always good to see. The bathroom was very nice, clean and modern, and the beds were comfortable. The kids slept on sofabeds, although these might be a little short for some full grown adults.

Even though a number of other families were hosted during our stay, our poolside balcony still felt very private. No thumping loud music (indeed there were several signs posted, reminding guests about keeping the noise level down) which might not be to everybody's taste. Personally, I appreciated the calm atmosphere, and the gentle splashing and joyful exclamations of kids in the pool needs no additional soundtrack.

There is no air-conditioning in the apartments, so I would recommend paying a little extra for renting a fan if the weather is warm.

Definitely not suitable for "party animals" who want to run riot, but if you are looking for a quiet base for you Mallorcan holiday, Apartamentos Atalaya Bosque is an excellent choice. Would be happy to stay there again.

3rd trip, peaceful, clean and spacious
Pros:

3rd stay here. So much quieter than any other accommodation as just a few minutes walk from the bars and shops. Immaculately clean, great shows, large balcony. Friendly helpful owners. Pretty surroundings. Local beaches are beautiful. Quick taxi transfer from Palma Airport which Jaimie will happily organise.

Pros:

This was our 2nd stay here, our first was 2 summers ago. We stayed for 10 nights and the hotel was just as good as we remembered and we’d definitely stay again!

Jaime and his mum & dad are extremely friendly and helpful nothing is too much trouble for them. The hotel is set away from the town, it’s small and quiet and set in a mostly residential area so very quiet at night.
The pool is very clean and tidy as is the area around it. They serve drinks and snacks until 7pm when it shuts for the day.
Cant really comment on self catering facilities as we didn’t use them but there is a big fridge for storing water and they sell large bottles of water cheaply in the hotel shop.

The town and the beautiful beach are only a 10-15 minute walk away. Lots of shops near the beach, clean toilets with an attendant that cost 50 cents per visit.
The beach has a manned lifeguard station so it’s very safe and there’s a guy comes around every afternoon with his wheelbarrow selling fresh watermelon, coconut and pineapple.

Paguera has some lovely restaurants most notably restaurant Gaby on the sea front and for amazing tapas Casa Enrique (very very popular so you need to book here)

Would most definitely recommend both the hotel and Paguera itself and we would not hesitate to return to both (hopefully in 2020!!)

Lovely well run family friendly apartment complex
Pros:

Arrived for a week's family holiday
Apartments are spotlessly clean and very spacious with all needed for a self catering complex
Pool area clean and well maintained. The family that run this complex do an amazing job and we could not have asked for a better experience. This is a perfect little gem of a place for a lovely quiet family holiday. The main town is only a ten minute walk away

Best time ever!!
Pros:

First of all I didn't go in February 2018 I went in July 2017- august 2017 there was nothing past February 2018 so I put that. The apartments were extremely clean the cleaners were friendly the staff were friendly. And the family who run the place were warm and welcoming!

When pair write bad reviews about a place that is outstanding and then everyone else writes a good review it makes me feel bad because we all had a lovely time and seems it was only them who had a bad time. But I enjoyed this holiday so much our view was fenominal.

Me and my family had been practising Spanish before we came to have at least a conversation with the local people. Even though we used Spanish there was almost no need as they all spoke English and Spanish fluently. In July this year we will be returning in fact as soon as we arrived home we were on the holiday website booking!!!

All the people who have are making this place such a great one congratulations!!!!

Izzy ;-)

P.s
I've learnt more Spanish can't wait to talk better in Spanish!!

Relaxing, quiet breaks
Pros:

I have stayed at these family run apartments several times - both as a child and adult. It is the friendly, helpful family who run the business and the relaxed atmosphere at the place that has resulted in multiple stays here, and I would go back again!

The apartments and pool area are both clean and tidy and good for the price. The location is a short walk to the town, beach, supermarket and bus stops for travelling to other nearby towns. The pool area is quiet and perfect for relaxing in the sun, reading a book, enjoying a drink from the bar or swimming in the pool.

The hosts are very welcoming and willing to help, for example with recommendations for local authentic Spanish restaurants. On our last stay we had some problems with contacting and arranging a meeting point with our transport to the airport, but the host, Jaime, very kindly helped us out and spoke to the driver for us to overcome the language barrier and he ensured that we got our transport ok.

I would definitely recommend this place!

Relaxed and welcoming
Pros:

We have just spent 10 days here. We have previously stayed at the Don Antonio up the road on several occasions, but they have put their prices up out of reach. We had seen the building before and read the reviews here and it looked like a good option. I could not believe the warm welcome when we arrived, it was only about 10.30am and we had expected to wait for the apartment to be ready, no it was cleaned and sorted for our arrival, I had emailed ahead asking for a top floor ( to minimise noise) and Jaime had placed us immediately below the family apartment, so according to him we would know who to complain about ! ( we soon got used to his deadpan sense of humour ). The apartment was very light and spacious, the largest we have ever stayed in with a very large bathroom. It was well equipped, even down to tea towels. ( and a kettle). The terrace was superb, large and equipped with a 3 piece suite of garden furniture and 2 padded sunbeds. Jaime & Maria are delightful and friendly hosts, OK he has a few rules posted up, but they only refer to things that any thoughtful person would not do anyway. For such a small block there is also a good pool bar and a small supermarket, well supplied and very reasonably priced ( better than some of the town shops). All in all we had a great holiday and a good laugh with the owners. I would recommend the apartments for a quiet, calm break

Made the best of it.
Pros:

The room was clean and the other families were very friendly.
We found this family run business to be very warm and welcoming at first.
The son and mother of this family were helpful and polite to us.

Sadly, the owner was not!

We are a quiet family with young children and understand why its important to follow safety rules and regulations. Adding extra rules on a daily basis for "some" holiday makers to follow becomes confusing.
We go on holiday to relax and enjoy the local culture.
The area is beautiful and the local people are usually very helpful and friendly.

Unfortunately, the owner became so invasive and critical it bacame impossible to relax around the pool.
A variety of things began to happen and on our second evening the male owner even entered our appartment and began "tell us off", like naughty children. He stated that he was the owner and as such, we need to do "what we were told"?

I couldnt believe what was happening. We do not come on holiday to be spoken to in such an unkind manor. Especially in the middle of a family meal! We had done nothing and couldn't understand what he was talking about?
When we asked him to leave our apartment, he got very unpleasant and told us, as he was the owner we should do what we were told!
My children became very upset and distressed at this point which upset my husband and I.
I didn't want to return to the apartments after this happened and became very upset with the constant fear of confrontation. My husband reassured me it would not happen again.

We did not enjoy our stay in the appartments after that. Everything we did seamed to be a problem to him. The lack of air conditioning and the fact my children became covered in mosquito bites made things very difficult.

The shops and resturants are excellent and child friendly

JAMIE = LEGEND
Pros:

I really don't want this review to be that good that we struggle to book again! My wife and I first visited this part of Mallorca 10 years ago on our honeymoon and stayed here and it was absolutely fab. Jamie and his family were perfect hosts then as they are now. We have come back to Peguera 8 times over the last 10 years and it is ideal for what we want but Jamie is always almost fully booked so have stayed at other establishments none of which compare even though they are touted as 5 star. If your happy with a beautiful apartment on a self catering basis then you will not find find a better host. However, just one word of caution Peguera is quite hilly so probably not ideal for the less able bodied unless staying on the main strip. As for Jamie "I love me" you'll understand why!

'Our Little Haven'
Pros:

Well our 2nd year back to these beautiful apartments and the experience was as good as the first time. As stated on other reviews there are rules but that is just like every hotel you visit and in reference to the owners it's about mutual respect they are extremely hard working and helpful. These apartments are in a residential area and therefore noise has to be kept to a minimum which is why it is so relaxing. The reason we returned this year was because we felt so safe last year, the owners make an effort with your children, which is why it is ideal for young families. Apartments are very spacious and immaculate with the surroundings, gardens etc well kept and pretty. Already booked for next year and can't wait!

Yet another great holiday
Pros:

Another fab time here again our 15th year here so it must be good. This year was very busy with lots of new families on their first visit, and a couple of regulars whom we have met before. We never had any problems whatsoever getting on with all of the new families and were always there to help out the new arrivals if there was something they needed any advice or directions etc.
Unfortunately we had to put up with constant hearing complaints from a couple of families and a full blown row one evening with a large amount of swearing from one of these families which lasted nearly 15 minutes. I was also accused on one review of being sat at the bar speaking spanish and talking about this family but this was not the case. Just to put the record straight on some of the recent reviews.
Anyhow we enjoyed our time her as always and will certainly be back next year. A lovely family running the place helpful and very welcoming. Lovely apartments and well kept. Thank you once again Maria and Jaime

Lovely apartments but lots of rules
Pros:

We normally stay in camp de mar but thought we would make a change when when we saw the reviews for hotel. Apartments and balconies are large and spacious. Our apartment was at back so had smaller bacony (still big) but apartment was very big light and airy as more spread out with more windows than apartments at the front. Apartment was clean and cleaners came in twice a week for towels and bedding changed once a week. Kitchen had new cooker top and full fridge freezer. Not oven or grill or microwave. There was a toaster and coffee machine large double sink and well equipt. There are 18 apartments in building and hotel and area are very quiet. It short walk from main paguera strip with all the shops and bars etc. There are a couple of different routes depending if you turn left or right leaving hotel. This is a small family run hotel and there are a lot of rules. The pool and bar open 9am-7pm and the owners will not tolerate any noise after midnight. Saying that Jamie was very kind and helpful in between telling you off lol. This is something which you get used to. There's a small shop on site which is handy and despite high season we found we had pool to ourselves one day. Plenty of space around pool And sun beds. All in all we had a lovely holiday but I would not recommend these apartments for families with teenagers. There were plenty of younger children and our daughter made a friend on day 1 and always had someone to play with in pool which was nice. Wifi available round pool and in seated zone inside. If you were lucky some signal reached the rooms.

Top Tip: “ Take a taxi to camp de mar beach for the day. Felicianos restaurant on main paguera strip is fabulous. Ask to hire a fan and try and keep windows closed at night and buy a plug in deterrant or you will be eaten to death by mosquitos Large Mercadona supermarket is 10 min walk away turn right out of hotel And keep walking straight until you come to hill in front, turn left here down gentle hill and supermarket is just down the end of road on right.

Be warned the hotel owner from hell
Pros:

We were a party of 2 families of 2 adults and 2 teenagers in each & chose this hotel because of the supposedly good reviews saying how friendly the owner & his wife were etc but we were not aware the owner was a Spanish Basil Fawlty. All I can say is that we must have been staying in the wrong hotel because we found them anything but friendly and welcoming. Our friends a family of 5 with 3 kids under 8 had already been in this hotel for a week and had also had problems with the owner being rude to them as well.

On arrival our friends met us in reception. We were all excited and glad to see each other after a long journey but the owners' wife seemed to have a meltdown about us being there and started arguing with her son in Spanish and he basically told her he would check us all in. Then the owner came out and asked who were the fathers of our 2 families so I indicated myself and my friend. He then called us over and these are his words almost exactly "Now listen to me you are here for 2 weeks and I am your best friend but if you make a noise, cause any trouble or do anything I have to come down, call the police and have you all thrown out." This was our supposedly warm welcome within 5 mins of arrival!!!

Things didn't improve from this point onwards. The owner had a big issue with people opening his fridge or chest freezer as I found out when I took a nanosecond longer than he felt I needed to while getting a can of sprite. He came up and proceeded to give me a full lecture on how to choose my drink looking through the fridge window saying look "open close open close" very animatedly. He also made a point every time I went to get a drink of coffee or soft drink of reminding me that this wasn't Magaluf which I found very irritating because I never have or ever will be going to Magaluf but he obviously had me typecast.

He told my wife off for leaving the balcony light on overnight even though we slept in the back bedroom. He also told a little girl off for washing her goggles under the shower at the end of the pool. I can understand the rule for no bombing in the pool which was quite small but the kids weren't even allowed to just jump from the side so were absolutely bored stiff. We tended to stay out of the hotel quite a lot because of the owner and his wife's attitude. One day we came back after being at the beach all day and my youngest son wanted an ice cream but when he took the wrapper off it all fell apart and came off the stick but when my wife pointed this out to the owner he started having a go at her about people not closing the freezer so my wife pointed out to him that we had been out all day and it wasn't our fault.

Now we come to the bar food. I never saw any menu in the 2 weeks we were there but then the choice was pretty limited i.e. hot dogs, burgers, chips and bit of salad but don't complain if the burgers are pink and undercooked because the owner told our friends " No complaints" when their daughters burger was almost raw. The chips were ok but then it's quite difficult to mess up cooking chips..

The other thing we didn't like was the owner & his mates drinking at the bar all day speaking in Spanish and we are sure they were talking about us and other guests. I spoke to a lady who said to me she found it quite unnerving going to the bar with lots of guys sitting on bar stools speaking in Spanish and looking at her while she was being served. Another couple were so disappointed with the attitude towards them and other guests they were trying to get flights home early but couldn't.

I would say the hotel itself was actually nice but the lack of aircon was a real problem because the rooms were stifling hot. The rooms and balconies were very spacious and There were enough rules and regulations plastered everywhere from reception to the bar area to cover the Albert Hall. I would say that if you want to sit around doing absolutely nothing then this hotel is ok but definitively not for families especially with teenagers because they will be bored stiff.

The real problem isn't the hotel but the owners attitude to some of their guests including us and this spoilt what should have been a nice holiday. We personally found the owner & his wife quite rude but their son was ok with us. We obviously will not be returning to this hotel.

Cheap and cheerful!!
Pros:

The hotel is clean and tidy, the rooms are very basic, it's self catering but no oven or microwave, you only have three rings to cook food on.
The hotel pool is salty, I was told off for having a water pistol to play with with my daughter, although a few family's had large inflatable balls and lidos nothing was said to them. The hotel is very strict when your looking for ice cream in the freezer or drinks from his fridge your told off if you take to long with the doors open. I found the other family's lovely and they were the only reason my holiday was ok.
The walk into town is about 10 mins, Peguera is a beautiful place and I would love to return but not to this hotel. The hotel owners sent me into panic so I felt I was unable to relax.

Do not make the same mistake we have!
Pros:

Worst apartment I have ever stayed at due to the owners, however what a bloody experience. On arrival some of our party were taken to one side and threatened to call the police if we made any noise. As well as this, as we arrived, the family who own the apartments were having an argument. Very welcoming.

The owners to these apartments make up as many rules as they like, whenever they please, such as no diving in the pool became, no bombing, which then even became no jumping in the pool - this doesn't say family friendly to me, especially as we had little children in our party. Myself, being 18 and my sister, 14 were playing with an inflatable in the pool, as it was empty so we thought surely this wouldn't be a problem. Again we were shouted at with the man saying "this is for little children, you will break this" despite the fact it was our own inflatable.

There is also food sold at the bar, so I had asked for a burger. The burger was pink throughout when I had received it, so I had asked if it could be cooked for a bit longer. Again the burger came out raw, so again I said this still isn't cooked and I received my
money back. The day following a friend of mine ordered a burger, and this one was cooked, so I then asked for a burger and explained that I am ordering this as my friends burger was cooked throughout, then I had been shouted at to not complain about raw burgers, and every time we went to order anything the man would go on and on about no complaining and throwing his hands in the air shouting.

The wife to this man is very sarcastic making remarks saying bravo every time one of the 8 years olds with us were to jump in the pool, this also followed by the man coming out and screaming at us saying we had no respect.

The 'in crowd' who sit in the bar all day with the owners talking in Spanish made it very clear were are talking about us making everyone in our party feel uncomfortable.

Too much miscellaneous decor in the room, no air con, not allowed to bring in your own food to eat by the pool however they stop serving the food at the bar at whatever time the owners please.

Clean and spacious
Pros:

We stayed here for a week at the of july with my partner and 2 children (age 7 and 8). When the bus dropped us off, we had to walk up a road to get to the apartments because it wasnt wide enough to get the bus through. We were greeted by the owner and his wife who were lovely. Throughout the stay the were helpful with advice and any questions that needed answering.
The apartment was very clean and very spacious. We had a double balcony with 2 sundbeds on one side and a sofa and 2 chairs on the other side. The decor was a bit dated but not shabby at all. The kitchen was great apart from having no grill/oven. We found this out AFTER we had bought frozen pizzas lol. The bathroom was big and fully functional. The downside is the beds were VERY uncomfortable. They were very hard and lumpy and I even tried flipping the mattress and putting the sunbed thin foam cover over the top. So this caused lack of sleep and a very bad back. Also, there was no air con in the apartment or fans. They dont have a fan rental service there and there was a heatwave there so was even warmer. This added to the lack of sleep!
The pool are was nice and clean. There is a bar next to the pool and WC. There are notices EVERYWHERE telling you what to do and what not to do. Excited to get in the pool after a long journery, we didnt see the sign near the pool saying not to come into the bar wet. As I was ordering drinks, my sun came out of the pool to tell me he wanted a drink (so he was wet). The next thing, the owner (male) shouts at my son and tells him off. Then lectured me and showing me the sign. This put me off him for the rest of the holiday. We learnt, from our stay, that his wife was more child friendly and relaxed whereas her husband was pretty grumpy and not as child friendly. So this put me on edge for the rest of the stay and felt I had reign my children in constantly. Furthermore, he told my son of for jumping in the pool and splashing.
Apart from this we had a great time lol. It is only a short walk from the beach and shops. For shopping, use the shop nearer the beach because its cheaper. Happy to answer any questions.
