I have been staying at this hotel for just under three weeks and, until this incident, had no issues or complaints.

One day, after returning to my room from taking my mother to work approximately 30 minutes away, I had just sat down when there was a knock at my door. When I answered, there were two fire marshals, a front desk employee, and another gentleman I had never seen before.

Immediately, the gentleman I did not recognize began accusing me of having smoke coming from my room. This was extremely confusing because I had literally just walked into the room and sat down moments before the knock. There was no smoke coming from my room, and I was not smoking. He then changed his accusation and claimed there was a marijuana odor coming from the room. I informed him that I did not have marijuana in my possession and pointed out that there were often odors throughout the third floor, yet my room was the one being singled out.

The fire marshals themselves stated that they did not see any smoke and simply needed to check the smoke detectors. While one of the fire marshals was speaking with me, the gentleman attempted to push past me and enter my room without permission. This made me feel uncomfortable and disrespected.

During the interaction, I overheard the fire marshals tell hotel staff, “You marked them as checked out.” This was shocking because we had not checked out at all. My boyfriend was still asleep in the room and was awakened by the commotion at the door. He had to quickly get dressed while this situation was unfolding.

When the fire marshals were finally allowed to inspect the room, it was discovered that our room was simply another room on a list of rooms with missing smoke detectors. This raises a serious concern: if multiple rooms were missing smoke detectors, why was I approached as though I had done something wrong? There was no evidence of smoking, no smoke, no marijuana, no ashes, and no ashtray in the room. The only smell present was from hair products.

What frustrates me most is that after all of this, no one apologized. No one acknowledged the mistake of marking us as checked out, the false accusations, or the way we were treated. After spending a significant amount of money staying at this property, my boyfriend and I were left feeling singled out, unwelcome, and unfairly targeted.

I believe this situation deserves a thorough review by management. The way this was handled was unprofessional, embarrassing, and unacceptable. I would appreciate a formal response explaining what happened, why we were incorrectly marked as checked out, and what steps will be taken to ensure other guests are not treated this way in the future. The circumstances of this interaction left me questioning whether I was treated differently than other guests, and that is a very concerning feeling to leave a paying customer with.

Nice and quiet atmosphere during the hectic independence day weekend blackout in Cleveland area. Would visit again if the need arises

Absolutely nothing maybe the lobby.

Hotel nice, room modern bed needs upgrade. Overall worth the money. Breakfast was free and priced appropriately. Would do a week here but a overnight or weekend yes. Overall clean and peaceful.

Staff were very helpful and friendly.

The location, staff and cleanliness of room and the beds were comfortable.
