Baymont by Wyndham Downtown Detroit

The front desk staff is completely incompetent, cannot do the simplest of tasks. Tells you the manager is not there when he is on the property. Then he gives an excuse of how the front desk staff didn't know he was there. That's insane. They cannot complete the simplest of tasks by emailing. Proper receipts from the guests that stayed on our credit card. We had over 15 rooms. I've asked numerous times for this information. Was promised it over and over and over and have not yet received it. I am not sure how hard it is. To email. A receipt for a group of people that checked into the hotel. To the people that were paying the bill. Hey, Cortana.

Humph.. I must say this is a very interesting setup. Overall, this is a very nice and clean hotel. However comma the thing that had me baffled was the fact that there are no windows in the room. The one window that's in the room faces a hallway.We was in the basement, so it was definitely very odd. I've never experienced a room that has no windows and you can't see the outside. That is the only bad thing that I have to say about the hotel is that there is no windows unless when you go up to a different floor there, you have windows.But the room we stayed in did not.

I stayed here with friends for a convention going on at Huntington place all weekend. The front desk staff was excellent, the amenities were great for the price, but the highlight of our trip was the free shuttle service and their driver Rich. He was exceptional. Just a phone call away, always kind and conversational, giving us plenty of recommendations for our stay and making it so easy for us to go place to place all weekend. We would stay here again for Rich alone. Thank you for such incredible service Rich. Also, shoutout to the front desk ladies, they were SO helpful in accommodating our needs and desires for our stay and making sure we got the most out of our hotel stay, and made us feel so comfortable and special there. This stay has completely overwritten a previous poor experience here, they have done great work making this hotel somewhere worth staying.

The Room was clean not to expensive but definitely could use some smokin rooms other than that staff nice and had a decent weekend

I had nothing but positive interactions with the hotel staff. The room itself was almost as advertised with the exception of not having cold faucet water...the water temperature ranged from luke warm at coldest to scalding hot. The hotel common areas have dark brown carpet which somehow managed to look filthy. Hotel was about 2 miles walk from Comerica/Ford Field. Let's go M's!

Old and run down hotel could use a deep cleaning and maintenance. Carpet clearly hadn’t been cleaned in 10 years

Staff was nice. The room and bedding was dirty.

I chose a Wyndham property because they are usually known for excellence. This was the exception. The area was not safe, the parking was limited, the room didn’t have a night light or hair dryer that worked and the entire place smelled of stale cigarettes. Not in my plans to return and I will ne more careful of Wyndham properties in the future

Well the hotel overall was clean but the wifi was terrible and the TV DID NOT WORK. I was told that someone would be down to fix it. The person who supposedly went to see about it told the clerk that it work fine. But when we got back to the room it still wasn't working. I think he was sent to the wrong room but none the less we were not satisfied with our stay.

The hotel was nice enough and clean for the price. The staff was very friendly. The building seemed safe, there were some slightly questionable things in the immediately surrounding areas.

Hallways were very hot like they had the heat on

There wasn't a mirror in the bathroom. You could see where it had been but wasn't there. There was a six inch ramp that was at the entrance to the bathroom to accommodate uneven floors. The toilet was only about 16 inches from the floor. The carpets were filthy both in the room and in the halls. The refrigerator was nearly falling over whenever you opened the door. The pillows were the size of a couch pillow. It was my fault that I didn't research better. I wouldn't ever had stayed there. The only redeeming qualities were Rich the shuttle driver and the bed was comfortable.

No caffinated coffee packets in my room

AC worked as it should, room smelled of stale cigarettes and Febreze.

Could use updates, but the bed was comfortable and the location was convenient.

Friendly service clean, but no bars or any nice restaurants within walking distance. Belle Isle is close and beautiful to visit!
