Everything! (And the famous Hot Brown really is out of this world delicious!😋)
A little pricey.
Wife and I have visited Louiseville multiple times and have always enjoyed getting the hot brown and some derby pie, so for this recent trip we chose to just stay at the hotel! Super convenient location to what we wanted to do for the weekend.
The only thing I can knock the hotel for was the old bed. It's 2026 so I was surprised to find our Deluxe King Room had an old spring mattress. I can overlook lots of things but I feel like the main sell of sleeping somewhere that isn't home is that it would be comfortable.
the character of hotel and the people were all very pleasant!
I didnt eat at the hotel due to the hundreds of restaurants in the area once we checked in at the hotel we got ready and then walked around checking out the whole area before the concert there is plenty to due in the area from ferry tours to distilleries to sample from highly recommended you check out the brown hotel 10/10 professional service made me feel like family.
Check out Metztli Mexican restaurant to try the street tacos.
I asked for rose petals to be scattered for my wife as a surprise and they made it happen just look at a great accommodation
That i didnt book a longer trip definitely will be back.
Location
Very expensive bar and restaurant.
Su ubicación y la esmerada atención de todo su personal.
Sus días de esplendor ya pasaron. Es tiempo de una remodelación. Luce viejo y en algunas áreas un poco descuidado. Es muy costoso para lo que ofrece.
Lots of history and the old style of decoration. We had visited Louisville last year and visited the gallery downstairs. I really wanted to stay in an old nostalgic hotel. I had been advised not to stay as too outdated, but totally disagree and loved our stay. Rooms were spacious, bathroom too. Unfortunately we didn't know about the 11 th floor and Mr Brown until after we had left. We also had a 'hot brown' after going out and having a few drinks. It was the perfect snack for the state and mood we were in!
When we checked in their were 2 reception staff. Luckily the one that served us was the friendly and very welcoming one. The other one, well, this review would not be so good if we have had her.
Beautiful old hotel, good location.
Could not adjust the room temperature. Hotel was a bit over priced. The wait staff in hotel restaurant were very mediocre.
The hotel is beautiful. The beds very comfortable and the shower was great!!
The check-in was just bad. No one at front desk to greet us. Girl came out of back still chewing, seems we interrupted her meal and she let us know she was annoyed. Never said hello welcome to the brown, how was your trip in, etc… not welcoming at all. When we had questions she just kept telling us to take it up with the booking site we used Booking.com. Told us hotel was sold out when we wanted to change rooms, later found out that was not true. Just left a bad feeling to start our stay with the Brown, such an iconic hotel should not have the first person that greets you behave in such a manner. We over looked the spoils of one bad employee and moved on. Only mentioning this so perhaps hotel management can give her some more training. They are the face of your brand!!
While we did not stay at The Brown, we had The Brown in the restaurant, it is worth the hype! The lobby areas of the hotel are just amazing!
Food was great. The water pressure was awesome. The elevator sleep was rocket-like .
More than 1/2 dining tables empty and unable to get a table for dinner.
Its history.
Location - lots of homeless in the area. Having armed security was reassuring but concerning. Felt uncomfortable walking around the neighborhood.
The furnishings are tired. A refresh is indicated.
The restaurant was out of roasted chicken on Sunday. On Tuesday the restaurant was still out of chicken but also two additional entrees on the menu. Was told the menu was changing the next day for derby. Breakfast on Wednesday morning cost $60 for two - dynamic pricing?
