Glad we got a deal on the hotel because I wouldn’t pay full price to stay there again.
Pros:

Location to restaurants and the KICC

Cons:

No pool the ice machine was broken in multiple floors so I had to go on an adventure to get ice. There were a lot of homeless people walking around close to the hotel.

Gorgeous, timeless building with cool retro vibe and painful sleeping boards for mattresses.
Pros:

The hotel is beautiful. The lobby is worthy of admiration alone. Love the bar, the restaurant, the front desk staff. Rooms are well-appointed.

Cons:

The bed is like sleeping on a box spring. Seriously. There is nearly zero cushion. In a hotel that claims to be luxury-level, I expect at least a Hampton Inn-level mattress situation. I woke up stiff and in pain for it. Second, the shower had the water pressure of a squirt gun. I can forgive the water pressure in an old building, but he mattress is hard to forgive when the point of a hotel is to, well, provide a place to SLEEP.

A faded dirty poor choice of a hotel
Pros:

Dirtiest hotel ever! Poor Brown Hotel! Bad service from mostly immigrant staff that struggle to communicate in English! Rude, lazy wait staff in lobby dining room! Our sofa had used dirty plastic forks stuffed at middle in between the two cushions. Several hair scrunchies on the doorknob and various hairs covering the floors … all from others that had previously stayed there. Yukko! Room service is non existent most of the day and when you try to order a normal burger and fries it takes multiple calls and over two hours to receive the order. We pivoted and used DoorDash to deliver all subsequent meals hot, fresh and timely.. from anyone except the hotel! The valets are nice and show hospitality but none of the other staff were in the least bit trained in hospitality nor customer service! I’ll never be back! We had a chance to visit the Omni and found everyone wonderfully nice and the place was clean! How refreshing! The Brown has well past her day as a nice hotel. Dingy, dirty, bad service and downright rude at times! Poor Brown Hotel!

Historic Luxury in Louisville
Pros:

Truly a grand dame of a hotel. We were in town for a family gathering, and we were so drained after a long drive that we didn't leave the hotel for two days. The lobby bar/restaurant is a gorgeous, opulent space and the food was consistently delicious, from the signature Hot Brown--which is a must-try--to the breakfast buffet. The staff were friendly and very helpful. Highly recommended property.

Cons:

The menu prices are not for the faint of heart, but we got a great deal on our room, so I can't really complain, especially in light of the experience overall.

Uncomfortable Beds
Pros:

It was a neat old hotel, with a fun story. The view & size of our room was nice. The bathroom was nice, but small.

Cons:

The staff was unresponsive when there was a very loud party after 11:30pm right under our room. We called the front desk & they said they would send security. However, it just continued to get louder & louder. My husband finally got dressed & went to the front desk. It finally quieted down at about 12:30pm.
We ate at the reastraunt. We ordered drinks & our waiter did not come back for 30min, the food took a long time & was just meh. When we checked out & told the front desk the trouble we had they said they would give us free parking, which was $22. Big deal, our 2 drinks at the restaurant were double that. Worst of all was the horribly uncomfortable bed. All we really want is cleanliness & a good night's sleep. It was clean, but it was not a good or comfortable night's sleep. Only 1 robe in the room.
