The rooms were clean
We were charged for late fees despite a historic snowstorm that derailed our travel by 24h. We informed the hotel of the delay as soon as we found out at Toronto airport. The response we received was standard corporate speak: cancellations made after 6 p.m. the day before are subject to a penalty. We explained that this was a "force majeure" situation, and that it had been our intention to check in on time. We even showed both the original boarding pass and the updated boarding pass for the delayed flight, but they didn’t care and insisted on charging us “late fees” regardless, even though the hotel was half empty when we checked in.
Besides the bad location, junkies, homeless, the single working elevator, and dimly lit room, we ended up checking out three days early due to the staff and management’s blasé attitude, combative and predatory attitude to our snowstorm ordeal. We strongly recommend avoiding the Belmont if you’re looking for an establishment with respectful and responsive customer service.
P.S. The only exception to the above was a receptionist named Dean, who expressed sympathy and handed us a bottle of water as we dragged our luggage out of the hotel.
Location was perfect for our trip.
The staff were so helpful from the tine we checked in and during our stay. The front desk explained everything we need to know, they even offered free drinks for every guest. One of the staff, Sukhpal ensured that all our luggages were delivered in the assigned rooms, from the time it got off our service vehicles. Nice experience. Kudos to Hotel Belmont Team!
Vikram was key to making our trip exceptional. He checked us in, made sure we had everything we needed and texted daily to make sure we were enjoying our stay. Vikram went above and beyond several times during our stay and was truly kind and helpful!!!
The hotel is clean, but rooms are tiny. It is in an interesting part of town and can get a little loud during the weekends. Great price with breakfast included and a short walk from everything downtown related.

The room was a little small with suitcases, but it suited our needs for the 2 nights.
I was upgraded from a double bed room to a king by the desk clerk. He didn't mention i would be charged $22 for the difference in room price..I was upgraded the trip before and it was complemtory as I didn't ask for it this trip or last.
