The location is convenient
Parking was expensive if you park at the location adjacent to the hotel. Good luck if you try to move three lanes to the left turn on the next street if you want to get to the cheaper “associated” parking area which about a half block or so away. I get it, it’s Vancouver but the room rate vs size of room was a shocker. We were there only one night so it wasn’t a big deal but it sure feels like the $ per square foot is unbalanced.
Location and great staff
Front steps
Location
The elevator was small, no staff helped or the stairs were hard, not accessible. For this price, I would rather stay somewhere else
Convenient location.
Friendly staff.
Convenient parking.
Clean, spacious room.
Only drawback is the steps up from the street to the lobby, but staff are on hand to assist with luggage.
Goede locatie, badkamer, goede bedden, super vriendelijk personeel
Ontbijt was niet geweldig en vindt ook plaats in bar naast restaurnt
The staff were very welcoming, the room was a good size for our family.
The hotel is situated across from a homeless hostel, and there was a lot of junkies in the surrounding streets. It didn't feel the safest, and pretty much left me a poor impression of Vancouver as a city. This obviously isn't the hotels fault, but I'd really recommend against staying in this area.
We booked this as a couple for a few days in Vancouver before an Alaskan cruise. I want to start with all the positives so you can be fully informed. Firstly, the rooms are very well finished! New, modern, clean and frankly everything you expect from M Gallery. Bed was very comfortable, shower is great, products fantastic and just generally a good experience. The location is very handy as well so nothing was hard to get to and the place is quiet so sleep was easy. Based on the room quality alone the first impression of the room is great. The gym is good but not big, there are bathrooms near the gym which is also for guests only and that is great. The reception team are very helpful and friendly so overall that was great as well.
But...the lobby looks tired, it has seen better days and maybe that is a sign of how busy the place can be...but still. In our room the air conditioner was loud. When I say loud it sounded like a small engine running in the room (that is room 203 if anyone from Accor is reading this). I booked a Queen room...not sure why but I did...and regretted it immediately. 16 sqm is small but it comes with no fridge. I have stayed in many 16 sqm rooms and they had a fridge. It was an oversight on my end so not a criticism but DO NOT BOOK QUEEN if you expect a fridge and some spare room. There are no real food amenities either. They say the Living Room but actually that is just not right and the photo and reality are a long way apart.
Would I stay here again...yes...would I book queen again...no...if my air conditioner was this loud again would I complain...according to my wife you better beleieve I would! As an Accor member this should have been better.
The room was small with a damp smell and had only one window that had a block-out dilm over it.
Venue
Clean and very good staff.
Nothing
Close enough to town
Old, room layout not great, horrible view
The room we stayed in was quite large, with good AC, plenty of hanging space and ample room for two suitcases. A very comfortable bed and very good blackout curtains enabled us to sleep well in the lengthening daylight hours. It has a good central location though it is not the best of neighborhoods. Breakfast is available at the attached Shamrock Storehouse, and the breakfast was very limited, less than average and if we hadn't of prepaid, we would have not returned after the first morning. Stay in the hotel, get breakfast somewhere else.
Our family had a very late booking due to a terrible air bnb situation. Thankfully, they were able to accommodate our last minute reservation during a weekend of FIFA action. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. The breakfast bar was delicious. Our family found the hotel to be within walking distance to many of the popular attraction. The train and bus stops were also very accessible from the hotel.
