Uninhabitable room and zero customer service. Avoid.

Cons:

We checked out of this hotel exactly 10 minutes after arriving. The room was incredibly suffocating and had a terrible, foul smell. When we asked for a room change, the staff denied it due to "full occupancy," leaving us with no choice but to walk out and pay extra to find a liveable hotel nearby. The hotel is now refusing to issue a refund, despite us not even staying there. A completely unfair and unprofessional establishment that profits off unlivable rooms.

Excellent, but just take care.
Pros:

Room was very good in general (but see below). Breakfast was excellent, with so much choice. Staff were excellent too, especially considering the problems they had with the May 2026 strike. Location could hardly be better - right on the waterfront.

Cons:

The room was good, but three safety problems:
1) 4-5cm step up into the bathroom (nighttime trip), 2) Shower door can easily swing outwards into the toilet seat (glass breakage), and 3) There is an electric socket literally just above the side of the sink. Other *very* minor gripes: There were no towel rails; just short knobs sticking out from the walls, and the spoons for tea and coffee were thin, wooden, and no longer the depth of the cup.

Beim eher kleinen Frühstücksraum war am Morgen sehr viel los. Frühstückszeit auf 45 Min.beschränkt.Im Zimmer fehlt ein Schrank oder eine Ablagefläche .

Pros:

Nice hotel, good location and good breakfast.

Cons:

Some staff on strike so unable to have lunch or dinner there. Also unable to use the bar for a drink, nor the outside waterfront decking due to strike. The hotel should have given a discount or a voucher in lieu of.

An excellent place - highly recommended
Pros:

Our stay at Clarion Hotel Admiral was absolutely wonderful. The location is perfect, with breathtaking views of the harbor and Bryggen right from the hotel. Waking up to such a beautiful waterfront setting made our visit to Bergen even more memorable.
A special thank you to Mahir at reception, who was truly exceptional. From the moment we arrived, he welcomed us warmly, took the time to explain everything clearly, and provided excellent recommendations that helped us make the most of our stay. His professionalism, kindness, and attention to detail made us feel genuinely valued as guests.
The hotel itself is comfortable, stylish, and ideally located for exploring Bergen. Combined with the amazing views and outstanding service, it made for a fantastic experience. We would gladly stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Bergen.
