Grand Hotel Nouvel Opera

Including the name "Grand" in this hotel's name is misleading as it was anything but. Very tired and basic room which was also small - only big enough for two single beds a small desk and a small wardrobe, which was really old and at best functional. The plug socket was behind the desk so you had to pull out the desk to use it. There were recessed spot lights over the bedhead which were too bright to use. There was a split in the lampshade of the table lamp.
The bathroom was small and would have been better if it just had a shower rather than a bath, but I don't see a renovation coming to this hotel any time soon as it doesn't feel like the owners really care about the comfort of their guests. The shower was a fitting coming off the taps, but the slider which held the shower head was broken so you had to hold it in one hand all the time when showering, which was not easy or comfortable. It was obvious the plug hole was blocked as the bath didn't drain and you ended up standing in three inches of shower water. No toilet roll holder with the loo paper folded in a little point....just a toilet roll placed on the cistern behind you...Grand...I think not! Tiny sink which is meant for a cloakroom not washing your face, so water ends up all over the floor. Generally basic, old and tired/broken fixtures and fittings which haven't been updated or mended. Hairdryer didn't work.
It would have been nice to be greeted at reception with some degree of welcome rather than surly and minimalist conversation. We didn't have breakfast so can't comment on the staff in the morning who I've read in other reviews are very helpful.
No air conditioning. We were staying in late April but during a warm spell. The room was very warm when we returned after a day in Paris, although we could open the two double windows which was noisy but kept the room cool.

Réceptionniste qui écrivait un mail quand on est arrivé. On patientait gentiment qu’il termine pour obtenir les clefs de la chambre. Au bout de 5-10 min j’ai du l’interrompre pour qu’il nous enregistre.

Les prises électriques dans la chambre ne fonctionnaient pas.

Der er kun hvidt brød og noget sødt til morgenmad. Der var et meget hårdt kogt æg til hver. Der er ingen ost eller pålæg heller ikke agurk eller tomat eller frugt.

Le petit-déjeuner se composait d'un œuf, d'un croissant et d'un morceau de baguette ; il n'y avait pas de fruits comme sur la photo, et on ne m'a pas dit si je pouvais en commander davantage. La salle de bain était mal propre et la cabine de douche minuscule ; j'ai dû en sortir pour me laver les jambes. Sinon, tout était standard. / The breakfast consisted of just an egg, a croissant, and a piece of baguette; there was no fruit like in the photo, and I wasn't told if I could order more. The bathroom was poorly cleaned, and the shower stall was tiny; I had to get out of the stall to wash my legs. Otherwise, everything was standard.

C'était plus cher cette fois-ci que la précédente fois en février et je pense du coup que c'est cher rapport qualité/prix

Lieu sombre pas très propre ça ne fait pas clean.

Le bruit au petit matin

Sol de la chambre extrêmement chaud (des denrées alimentaires ont fondu la première nuit), non pris en compte par le personnel
Personnel peu accueillant à l'arrivée et désagréable le lendemain pour notre problème + quelqu'un est entré dans notre chambre pour retirer le lit bébé alors que nous nous reposions et que nous en avions besoin jusqu'à la fin du séjour

Ich war im 6. Stock und der Duschvorhang war weiter weg platziert, so dass Wasser auf dem Boden kam, aber es waren genügend Tücher vorhanden
