Lovely location and very nicely presented
Pros:

View was lovely. The hotel is showing signs of age but it was very well presented and very comfortable. Staff were very pleasant. Would certainly look at staying again.

Good value for money but make sure you contact the hotel ahead of time for easier access.
Pros:

The rooms were good with a great view of the lake.

Cons:

We had to carry our cases up two flights of stairs as there was no lift in our area, despite booking 4 months ahead. The staff were unusual for New Zealand in that they were not happy and friendly, but stand offish.

Pros:

Booked it to try out the grotto spa which was unique & interesting but perhaps too much chlorine as our eyes stung after a short while from the spray

Cons:

The bathroom fan was really loud so we got changed to another room - staff were very helpful

Perfect place to break a journey.
Pros:

Manuels Taupo would be one of the best hotels in NZ, in our opinion. We have visited on several occasions in the past and will again. The location, standard of service, and the room are to a high standard, and sitting on the balcony, with a glass of wine in the evening, is a perfect way to end a busy day......what a view!!!

Cons:

Lift was out of order so lugging heavy suitcases up stair was a bit of a chore, but not a biggie.

Would have loved to have stayed longer than the one night
Pros:

This is a great hotel where the staff were extremely friendly and keen to please. It is superbly located right next to the lake shore with excellent views over the lake. Bar and dining room were busy with a good vibe and attentive staff. Room was clean, well appointed, comfortable and of a good size. Sliding doors onto the balcony with its superb views over the lake was a joy. Breakfast was good.

La situation très belle sur le lac
Le restaurant et avec buffet petit déjeuner
La piscine chaude et calme
Le personnel très gentil

Cons:

La douche petite et vieillotte alors qu il y a de belles salles de bains sur les photos
Un des lits avait les ressorts un peu défoncés donc on a dormi à 2 dans l autre
Pour le déjeuner continental on a que des toast pas de pains ni de vraies confitures pâtes à tartiner
