Pros:

Great staff, really friendly and helpful. clean and comfy

Cons:

Our room was very dark. The wall of the building behind was very close and that can't be helped but the lighting options weren't great.to male up for that.

Beautiful and spacious suite in a great location!
Pros:

The Commonwealth is such a gem. The staff is always so friendly. It is in a great location; there are several restaurants within 5, 10, 20 minute walking distance. The hotel is about 1/2 mile from the new Allianz Amphitheater. It was a very easy walk to and from the amphitheater. It also a very easy drive to Carytown or the VMFA; you can also walk to Carytown or the VMFA depending on how much walking you enjoy. We had a king suite, and it was so spacious and comfortable; the bed was comfortable, although the pillows were a bit too soft for me. I wish the windows had an overhang so the sun/brightness would be a bit more contained; there were blackout curtains, but because there was not window overhang, the sun brightened the room.

Cons:

I like everything about this hotel.

Nice location and rooms were fantastic!
Pros:

Very roomy and staff was super friendly; They even gave us plates and spoons for our dinner ordered through Uber.

Cons:

They were refusing to give me credit for my 5/27 to 5/28 stay which I hade made an error; I was given a room for 5/26 to 5/27 which was nice and I paid promptly! Please refund my 5/27 to 5/28 promptly.

Pros:

Location is superb, right in front of the State Capitol. Also restaurant/breakfast downstairs is really good. Delicious food and great service.

Cons:

Hotel is a renovated historical building, but some parts are not well kept and not very clean (windows have spider webs on the outside and carpets look very dirty in the rooms). Beds and showers are well kept and clean so it was alright.

We had a grea birthday trip and the hotel staff and space made it extra special!
Pros:

Great space and great staff!

Cons:

Pull out coach was there and clean, so that’s a win. Pull out was only so-so when it comes to comfort

Enjoy a piece of history
Pros:

Great boutique hotel with large rooms. Thoughtfully decorated and designed. Loved learning about the history of this hotel. On the register of historic hotels, don’t miss this gem! Enjoyed a nice dinner in the hotel restaurant - shrimp tacos were great. Hotel staff are very friendly and accommodating. If you’re looking for a unique hotel with large rooms in a great location, this is the place!

My new favorite Richmond hotel
Pros:

Charming hotel with very welcoming and helpful staff. Our room was very comfortable, with lots of space and a lovely, deep sofa at the foot of the king bed. This was perfect for reading and watching TV. I recommend the happy hour and want to draw special attention to Jovhan, at the front desk, who single-handily fixed a problem in our bathroom, and the charming bartender, Sean. Terrific atmosphere; easy location; great value for Richmond.
