Cons:

On top of already extremely high price, parking in the hotel parking lot was an additional $38. That's for self parking, not vallet.

Pros:

There were a dozen plus unmoderated teen/college students in the hallways between 12-3 AM making lots of noise, running down halls, etc...I think staff should have intervined so others could enjoy their stay.

Don’t expect to use the gate onto the freeway frontage road.
Pros:

Near to St David’s hospital

Cons:

The gate was closed when I returned for my second night which caused me to get into the neighboring apartment complex where Google said there was an exit. There was only an emergency fire gate. Finally I got back onto the freeway and wound through sketchy east Austin complete with hoards of homeless people. I reported it to the woman at the desk who was unconcerned.

Pros:

Coming down from the Denver area, I wasn’t sure what to expect out of Austin. However, I felt immediately relaxed upon my arrival at this double tree. The front desk worker, Miguel (I think that’s how you spell it), was very welcoming and very knowledgeable of things to do in the area. I followed a couple of his recommendations and found myself really enjoying my time in Austin. It was refreshing to be greeted by a friendly face after a very long drive, and I’m ever back in the Austin area, I will be sure to stay here again.

Wonderful property
Pros:

The staff was fantastic. So friendly, sincere & quick to get things resolved.

Cons:

Breakfast buffet was lacking in freshness. Menu was offering very little choices.
