Coming down from the Denver area, I wasn’t sure what to expect out of Austin. However, I felt immediately relaxed upon my arrival at this double tree. The front desk worker, Miguel (I think that’s how you spell it), was very welcoming and very knowledgeable of things to do in the area. I followed a couple of his recommendations and found myself really enjoying my time in Austin. It was refreshing to be greeted by a friendly face after a very long drive, and I’m ever back in the Austin area, I will be sure to stay here again.
The tv. It also has bad luck
Road construction made egress from the property difficult
The staff was fantastic. So friendly, sincere & quick to get things resolved.
Breakfast buffet was lacking in freshness. Menu was offering very little choices.
How close it was to Moody Center
There's no water pressure.
It's a central location to the places I need to visit in town.
- The bar is never open. I don't know if that was because it was Sunday, but I fully expected the bar to be open at 11 pm. But to be fair, I have no idea what the bar hours are.
- The cost. I assume the fluctuation in cost is dependent on the events in the area. I've paid anywhere from $200-$280 in my 2 previous stays. But $400 for one night (booked over a month ago) is excessive. Especially considering it doesn't include any immenities like free parking or even breakfast.
- Though the room was generally clean it was a bit concerning to see the bathroom door as filthy as it was inside. It was very noticeable and also easy to clean. Simple overlooked areas like that make worry about what other things are overlooked.
Miguel went over the top with us for our stay. We stayed at this Doubletree for an entire week and he made it entirely seamless, and feel like home. He made a stressful time so much easier for all of us and we are so grateful. Would recommend the Doubletree austin location to anyone.
The Hotel was reasonably close to our venue. The staff was friendly and professional. Our room was clean and comfortable.
