Great staff!! everyone was helpful and friendly. perfect location--just steps away from shops and restaurants. Hotel breakfast was delicious! Rooms were up to date and clean. would def stay here again.
I am writing this as an urgent warning to anyone considering staying at the Corque Hotel in Solvang, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel, particularly disabled individuals or those traveling with a task-trained service animal. My stay on March 3, 2026, resulted in a traumatic severe physical altercation initiated by an intruder unlawful withholding of my property, and retaliatory credit card charges.
I booked a mobility/hearing accessible suite and checked in with my documented service animal. During my stay, an individual affiliated with the local tribal property broke into my room and committed a severe physical offense against me. The hotel staff allowed this to happen and failed to provide any security or safe harbor.
When local police arrived, the assailant attempted to convince them to arrest me. Due to the complex jurisdictional issues of the hotel operating on tribal land, the police refused to intervene, take my statement, or protect me from the assailant.
I was forced off the property, but the hotel and tribal authorities refused to release my vehicle and personal belongings, forcing me to formally request permission via text message just to retrieve my own car. To make matters worse, shortly after I requested my belongings, the hotel retaliated by fraudulently charging my credit card an erroneous $300 "Carpet OOO Guest Room Damage" fee.
The complete disregard for basic guest safety, the blatant ADA and civil rights violations regarding my disability and service animal, and the subsequent financial retaliation are entirely unacceptable for any business, let alone a Marriott-affiliated property.
Do not stay here if you value your physical safety, your rights, or your property. I am currently escalating this matter to Marriott Corporate, the Department of Justice, and specialized legal counsel.

Beautiful hotel, great location
We stayed at Corque Hotel for one night on Saturday, February 7. The property is lovely, but our experience with the front desk left us unexpectedly disappointed.
We arrived shortly before 4:00 p.m. and were checked in shortly after 4:15 p.m., which was not an issue. At check-in, the front desk manager approved a one-hour late checkout (12:00 noon) for the following day, noting that Sunday was expected to be slow. We planned our morning based on that assurance after a very early airport run for a friend.
When I called the front desk later that morning to confirm, I was told the late checkout was not approved or noted, and the staff declined to honor it or allow even a brief extension. So, I opted to speak to the assistant manager who reinforced this position without offering flexibility or attempting to resolve the misunderstanding.
What made this difficult was not the time itself, but the feeling of having a management assurance withdrawn without empathy or flexibility. As a Marriott Bonvoy member, this was especially disheartening.
A simple acknowledgment of the prior assurance, better internal communication, or even a short grace period would have gone a long way.
Manager Nick later acknowledged the approval and handled the situation professionally, spoke with honesty and candor, and took steps to mitigate the situation, which we appreciated. Nick was exemplary. It is the lack of communication and compassion at the front desk that overshadowed an otherwise enjoyable stay.
Magnifique rien a dire parfait bien placé propre 👍
Tout était top
Conveniently located with ample parking. The room was spacious and we loved the double sinks in the bathroom. Close proximity to everything.
We were on the first floor and had children in the room above us. I would’ve preferred to be on a top floor so that we didn’t have to listen to a gymnastics routine at 7 AM.
