Half way point between destinations
Pros:

Was not aware when booking the whole place was under construction. Would have been nice to know! A discount rate would have been nice since it was a construction zone.

Received an email the day before we were leaving saying it was under construction -bistro was closed, fitness center was closed and pool was closed all things we wanted. It was sent after our free cancellation period and not enough time to figure out something else. It would have been nice to receive email right after booking. The door to our bathroom would not close at all. We were told we had a renovated room

Pros:

The Courtyard Marriott Beckley,WV was not the best hotel. It is conveniently located and easy to park. The front desk staff were friendly and made good eye contact.
The hotel is under construction in various areas. I was in the 4th floor, double queen room which is newly renovated. The bathroom is small. The mirror over the bathroom sink is poorly lit- making it hard to see for applying makeup. The walls around the sink and mirror are a very dark color making the lighting worse. There is 1 other mirror on the inside of the narrow closet door.
Bed was comfy and room was clean. The food options in the hotel are limited.

Pros:

location was perfect and quiet but with many restaraunt and shopping options.

Cons:

Great stay with friendly staff. However, the beds were like sleeping on bricks. I would recommend upgrading the beds to comfortable models. After all, people pick their stay at hotels for mostly comfort during travel.

Someone from cleaning knocked at my door around 9:45am when check out is 12 noon. We were resting.

2 night stop from Florida to Ohio
Pros:

A nice room, very friendly staff. They let me change rooms with no problem when I realized I hadn't booked a room with a balcony. Close to a lot of dining and the interstate.

Cons:

Very noisy staff in the morning. Heard a lot of banging around, looked out on the balcony and staff members were throwing patio chairs and tables from (i hope unused) rooms to ground level

Pros:

I was not made aware that there was both construction on the outside of the building as well as directly outside of my hotel room door. There were workers and cords lying around the entirety of the hallway and they were drilling and making noise when I checked in. Had I known the hotel was undergoing construction, I would have chosen a different hotel to stay.

Pros:

Stayed for one night, very clean and had essentials. Bit pricey compared to other hotels and continental breakfast is not included. It’s an extra charge,but other than that it was pretty pleasant.
