Very central, quiet hotel. We had a suite which was enormous with a really well equipped kitchen and laundry facilities. Clean and comfortable.
The hotel is spotless and very comfortable. It was a good size for 3 adults with handy kitchen facilities. Location is fantastic on Lambton Quay and it is very easy to reach by car from the motorway. I would definitely stay again.
Two night stay on route to the south island. Excellent young male receptionist to be commended- very friendly and helpful. Room was spotless. We were upgraded to a two bedroom suite with its own kitchen area, two bathrooms and washing machine and drier in the apartment that was really useful. No room view but light and quiet (3rd floor). Great location on main shopping street and a few mins walk from the harbour side restaurant area. Only issue was the arrival address was at the front of the hotel in the Main Street but you actually need to enter reception via Gilmer Terrace where there is free parking to unload. The overnight parking is in a nearby car park at about £13/nught.
Spent 2 night's as a part of a road trip through the North Island. The room was
a 1 bed suite with older style furniture that could do with a refurb. The kitchenette was modern and updated and the bed was comfortable along with a big walk in shower and bathroom. Everything was clean and our stay was pleasant. The down side was as we had a car the directions to the car park and hotel check in were very confusing and we ended up parking our car in the wrong car park. There is no place to park in front of the hotel so make sure you get good directions. As we are not "city" people we would look elsewhere if we returned.
Excellent service, location, amenities, cleanliness. Duty manager Rex was delightful and very helpful. Room was well appointed with stove and dishwasher. Best accommodation to finish our 3 week tour of the North Island.
We travelled with a friend to Welly in late January, and needed a place with two bedrooms, bathrooms and a kitchen and chose the Adina City Life.
What a great choice - the hotel is perfectly located for travelers who do not rent a car and between the cable car, the easy walking and the harbor ferries you can get anywhere you need to go.
The unit was sparkling clean and looked brand new. Super comfortable it really added value to our holiday. The only recommendation we made to management was that another comfy chair would have been nice (just one couch for three visitors.
We highly recommend the Adina, and will choose this on our next visit!

This hotel is 'underground' so natural light is scarce. However, it was comfortable enough and had a Nespresso coffee maker which was nice. However, the kitchen was missing a few things which would have made it difficult to self-cater. Finding the entrance was a bit difficult too but a friend who lives in Wellington had briefed us so we were prepared.
Brilliant! Smack bang in the middle of the capital’s main shopping street, this well priced apartment hotel offers everything you need. Our one-room apartment (111) was extremely spacious, comfortable and equipped with everything we needed. The location is great, just off the motorway and a short stroll away from the waterfront but it’s very quiet too. There’s a supermarket just steps away - very useful if you’re self catering - and the car parking is also very close. The welcome we received upon check-in was very friendly. We’d seen in a photo that one of the apartments had a Nespresso machine but when we first arrived ours didn’t. Not a problem! A staff member on reception was back within no time with one. Likewise, the Serbian receptionist at checkout was charming and helpful with a query we had.
The kitchen had everything, right down to dishwashing liquid. In the very nice bathroom (which has body wash, skin cream, shampoo, conditioner and even a makeup removal pad), there’s a washing machine with washing powder and a dryer. There’s a safe and iron and ironing board in the bedroom. The bed was incredibly comfortable and the pillows just dreamy. All in all, we were very impressed and would have no hesitation in staying here again.
Great, spotless facility in the centre of the CBD.
My wife and I were both blown away by the cleanliness of our apartment. We have stayed in 3 or 4 CBD hotels in recent times, and none has compared to Adina City Life.
The facilities themselves were excellent with a spacious bedroom, a lounge, kitchen, and a standalone bathroom. The facility is geared towards longer stays with a full-size fridge with freezer, all kitchen utensils, a dishwasher and a washing machine.
There is paid parking in a nearby parking garage, currently at just over $30.
The only negative we experienced was around the parking. Our reservation included checkout at midday, but we had to pay extra over and above our overnight parking charge to exit the parking garage, despite exiting around 11 am.
We had a solid breakfast at their sister facility, Travelodge, a 100m down the road.
The hotel reception is in Gilmer Terrace, but there is a pedestrian entrance on Lambton Quay into the hotel.
We spent two nights here in a super spacious 2 bed apartment in the middle of the city centre. Our parking was already pre-paid. We had a washing machine and tumble dryer and a fully equipped kitchen, perfect for half way through our holiday. It is extremely central and very convenient for sightseeing in Wellington.
Hidden away amongst office blocks with more than one entrance that allows you to access the shops and restaurants. The parking is limited st reception is limited and not for the faint hearted!! The car park for guests is opposite and the design of it means you could damage your car on overhanging floors !! Look around before reversing! No atmosphere. Staff I encountered were inexperienced and not personable.
This hotel has a great location near all the shops on Lambton Quay--everything you need at your front door, including the cable car and grocery store. I was delighted to receive a free upgrade to a one-bedroom suite and it really made a difference in my hotel experience. What otherwise would have probably been an average stay turned into a real treat. The suite has a kitchen (fully stocked), dining area, bathtub, and washer dryer all within the unit. The decor was not-so-modern but I could live with that. Highly recommend if you can get a suite!
Really nice place to stay. Was expecting a fairly standard hotel room but it was more of a suite. Having a washer and dryer in the unit was greatly appreciated.
It's a little tricky to get to by car so if you don't need one, leave it behind. We didn't use our rental car the whole time we stayed here. Walking distance to Te Papa Museum and the harbor, Cuba Street, restaurants, and shops. The Cable Car to the botanical gardens and shuttle to Zealandia are a block or so away.
Staff were not overly friendly or helpful (but not rude), but we wanted a place to be independent so that was fine. We would stay here again and recommend to others.
Excellent accomodation. Well situated in the centre of the citynesr the cable car.only one slight issue is that they need to give better directions to the parking.
Pros:
24 hour reception - much needed as our flight from Sydney arrived at 11.50pm
I We stayed for 4 nights. a week and booked a one bedroom apartment which wis very spacious.
All the staff were friendly and helpful, the size & cleanliness, the location can not be beaten.
The free coffee for the supplied plunger.
Check Out at 11am not the standard 10am, the extra hour is much appreciated.
Cons:
The apartment only had one window in the corner so little natural light and no view, but as I was out during the day this was only very minor, and not really a con.
We booked 2 rooms. Upon arrival, both rooms were dirty (wrappers, left-over food in one and used hygiene products in the other). We notified reception that we were out for dinner so the rooms could be cleaned. That did not happen.
We stayed in an 2 bedroom apartment. Beds were comfy.. rooms clean and tidy and just down the lift to Wellington shopping. Only thing missing, some coasters and table mats.
All excellent. Very close to World of Wearable Arts although the receptionist couldn't direct us there. Room excellent. Awesome kitchenette and super comfy bed.
Whole booing was very smooth.
Very clean and tidy, big spacious rooms with everything you need and helpful friendly staff. Would definitely stay again.
We stayed in a 2 bedroom apartment, it had everything we needed for a family. The location was spot on. A bus stop (on Lambton Quay directly opposite hotel not the driveway entrance) was fantastic, easy access from the airport and to all the attractions we visited (weta workshop, zoo and airport) and everything else we could go on foot. The kids enjoyed catching the bus. Minutes from a woolworths supermarket and the cable car. The hotel was really clean and quiet, great water pressure too. Loved that it had a washing machine and dryer as it was quite wet and with kids, that made life easier. A good kitchen layout with a small dishwasher, oven, cook top microwave made planning kids meals very easy. The room had a good amount of space and I would definitely stay again. The staff were lovely and found one of the kids hand held gamers left behind and couriered to us, really appreciated that.
We got snapper cards at the wellington airport when we landed - exit E I think, had a blue dispensing machine. Couldnt get kids ones though, only adults, but it was easy to use the app on your phone and top up, a very convenient way to get around.
The location of the hotel is very convenient with a short walk to a playground near TSB arena and can easily walk to Te Papa too.
