Mildom Hotel Baku

Quite a controversial experience. The hotel is good, clean and comfortable. But the transfer was not the best experience at all. The car arrived one hour later, they requested the other sum than agreed. The drivers behavior was a little bit weird also. So I would recommend to stay there if you do not need a transfer.

Scam alert: I was victim of the “SIM card scam” that seems to be common in the country (as I later learned). The driver arranged by the hotel to pick me up at the airport insisted that SIM cards are overpriced at the airport and that he could stop on the way for me to buy one at a better price. He stopped at a convenience store and I was ripped off. The driver of course gets a commission later as he knows the people in the store. That’s how the scam works.

I suppose the hotel will deny any involvement, but it was clear to me that the scammer driver was in friendly terms with the hotel staff. The manager seemed to be a decent enough person, so I think the sketchiness of this hotel is really due to the younger guys that work there.

The staff was what made this hotel exceptional. Everyone from the housekeeping lady to the front desk was welcoming and helpful. I especially like the homemade jam and pastries at breakfast.

Great value for money and an easy 20 minute downhill walk to the metro and train station.

The hotel is in a good location, right at the intersection of Azadlik street. Transportation is very easy. You can go anywhere in the city for 2-3 manats by downloading the Uber and Yango applications. The breakfast was sufficient and I did not feel any deficiency. The rooms are not very big, but they are sufficient and provide the necessary comfort. The staff is friendly and helpful. Cleanliness was also good. It is recommended as a price-performance hotel.

Excellent value for money. A little out of the core centre of Baku but Bolt cabs are cheap and plentiful.

The bed would have been more comfortable if it was a double bed rather than 2 singles, but other than that it was a great place to stay. Free breakfast as well although it was a bit monotonous, something cooked would have been great.

It was great. They didn’t even care that we were gay!

What a wonderful staff at the Mildom Hotel. Friendly and super helpful. The rooms are comfortable and quiet. Only a few blocks walk from shopping, restaurants and all conveniences. We enjoyed our two day stay very much.

The stay was alright, the free breakfast was a plus but their was one receptionist that kept on asking for money for every little thing and it was just him that kept asking, i asked if i could get a hot water cup so i can make tea, hes like its 7 dollars for just to heat water for but when i asked the other employee he was very helpful and never asked for money, this one guy kept asking for money for literally the stupidest things, he was alot very rude to my friends as well who were from a different country but as soon as he saw me his tone would change around them and he would start acting very differently.
Overall its an alright place to stay but dont expect too much and make sure you dont pay extra for stupid stuff.

Hotel is at very good location. It’s just opposite to the US embassy. 28 May metro station hardly 10 minutes walk. Bus stop 5 minutes walk. Supermarket is also nearby. Hotel staff is very cooperative. Complimentary and good buffet breakfast. Hotel is clean and daily house keeping is provided. I recommend this hotel to stay for couples and families

Excellent location, right next to the United States embassy. Extremely friendly staff and you feel welcomed the minute you step inside the hotel. The staff was very helpful, they assisted me in making phone calls and arranging the taxi. The breakfast was very nutritious and the variety of food was impressive. I am very thankful to the hotel and the hotel's staff for making me feel very welcomed.

Travelled from the UK for the Formula 1 race, instantly met with great staff and had a very comfortable bed, Good location If going to the F1 race.

The staff was excellent, and went above and beyond to make my stay pleasant. This is a budget hotel, and located in a safe neighborhood with some amenities around it. Rooms are comfortable.

You need to remember this is a Budget Hotel as such it doesn't come with things that a higher priced hotel will have as common items. The level of service was just awesome, can't say enough for it. The rest, well if you are wanting a budget hotel you might want to consider it. If you want some of the nicer things you will need to look elsewhere.
