Magic Castle Hotel

What a treat. Small - only 43 rooms - but well appointed, very nicely maintained, and the staff is unbelievably nice. Lots of extra treats - from the popsicle hotline phone, complimentary breakfast, free snacks at the counter, and free soft serve ice cream and free Coca-Cola fountain drinks. Building is old, but very newly appointed. Even has full sized refrigerator and kitchen, with large sitting room. Bedroom is seperate and bathroom was well stocked and had a full sized tub/shower. Very Nice that it is walking distance to Hollywood Blvd, Chinese Theater. We parked our car in their covered parking lot, and walked everywhere. Book this treat of a hotel if you can get a reservation - very fun

We had such a wonderful stay at the Magic Castle Hotel, and our family truly didn’t want to leave after our week-long visit—it really felt like a magical place!

From the moment we arrived, Kevin, the Front Desk Manager, made an incredible first impression. My wife said it was the best welcome she’s ever had, and I couldn’t agree more. Kevin’s warmth and attentiveness throughout our stay made us feel so valued, and we especially appreciated how he connected with our son every time we saw him.

Our family looked forward to the daily breakfast, and our son was over the moon with the endless ice cream cones and snacks like Doritos. Alfonso, the magician, was a highlight of our visit. He was not only talented but also kind and engaging, bringing so much joy to our son and leaving our whole family amazed by his tricks. In fact, my son loved Alonso so much that we made sure to see him again on our last day.

The pool was another favorite for us. We swam almost every day, and the water was just the right temperature—never too cold. We also appreciated the convenient on-site laundry facilities. Our room and the hotel itself felt cozy and homey.

The location was perfect—central to everything we needed, from Universal Studios to grocery stores, In-N-Out, restaurants, and more. Plus, the hotel was quiet at night, which allowed us to rest peacefully after our busy days.

Overall, this hotel provided not just comfort, but a lot of extra touches that made our stay memorable. We can’t wait to return!

This is our second time staying at the magic castle hotel and we can’t recommend it enough. The amenities they provide are so fun and not something you get anywhere else and it’s just fun to be there in general. I want to shout out all the staff, every single person we have spoken to on the phone and in person have been the nicest, most helpful people ever. I had some issues with my most recent reservation (I had to change dates 2x to line up with availability at the magic castle) and they were swift in their help in finding the dates that worked for us while being so patient. I wish I got everyone’s names, but from our most recent stay, want to shout out Nicole who was so friendly in helping me answer last minute questions regarding our reservation.

We’ve stayed here twice and will visit again. The staff are genuinely glad to see you. The building is aging but don’t let that put you off. We travel a lot and this is the most welcoming place we’ve ever been. Free snacks, soft-serve ice cream and more. Obviously nice for families but just as great for adults. Unless you’re an insider, this is the only way to see the shows at the Magic Castle next door, which is a bucket list experience (be sure to book direct with the hotel for this, not a third party booking service). And for all of this experience, very reasonably priced.

We stayed at the Magic Castle Hotel since we were going to the Magic Castle that night and didn't want to have to drive home. I didn't know what to expect and the drive-way entry was somewhat confusing, but after that it was an absolutely amazing experience. The initial welcome and service at the front desk was incredible! The staff was so friendly and welcomed us with a glass of sparkling wine, then explained the property and showed us where everything was. We asked to change rooms as the first room was too close to the pool and ice machine, and they not only accommodated us (even though they were almost sold out that night), but they helped us carry our luggage to the new room. The room was very spacious and very clean, with a full kitchen and refrigerator. We were only staying 1 night, so we didn't get to enjoy the pool, but it looked very inviting. And a midnight snack of soft-serve ice cream? Priceless. We can't wait to visit again and bring our little girl so she can enjoy the pool, ice cream and "popsicle hotline" for on demand popsicles. Highly recommended for couples or families who want to have a great, fun stay in the heart of the Hollywood tourist area.

This place is AMAZING! Especially for families with kids. Free snacks, breakfast, laundry, popsicle hotline, coffee machine (espresso drinks!), soft serve machine. They even have a magician that comes a few times a week. This was the coolest hotel we’ve ever stayed at. Kevin, the front desk manager, was the absolute best! So kind and accommodating!

If I could give the staff service a score on a scale of 1-10, they (especially Kevin!) get a solid 12! So welcoming, helpful and always cheerful greeting us by name. Made all of us (4 yrs old to 74) so glad to be there. Grandkids loved swimming in the warm pool and free snaks/soft drinks/softserv was a hit. If you're on the bottom floor, or facing street, maybe pack earplugs? Definitely a repeat for us when in the area again. Suite room is comfortable and extra space with living/dining/stocked kitchen. Included Breakfast is continental and a nice selection too.

This property was a fun surprise! The guest service is amazing! Everyone is happy, helpful and friendly! The units are in a 1940's apartment building built around a pool that is so fun! It is adorable. Rooms are spacious and clean. Champagne on arrival, free ice cream, sodas and snacks. You are in the heart of old Hollywood just blovks from Hollywood Blvd. Sit down by the pool and relax with a few free snacks.

The staff were absolute superstars. The complementary Breakfast, Drinks, Snacks, ice cream,roaming magician and free laundry services were phenomenal. Watching the excitement of the kids in the 24hr heated pool order popsicles on the phone was so fun to watch. The location was excellent and we were lucky enough to dine at the magic castle and experience the incredible talent, shows and food. This property itself isn’t the fanciest hotel I’ve stayed in but the bed was super comfortable ( I like it super soft ) and the facilities and staff definitely made it the best hotel I’ve ever stayed in. I couldn’t recommend it highly enough.

The complimentary services, especially the ones for the kids and the staff, especially Kevin were exceptional 😃 i loved that i could relax on our verandah and still see and hear the kids in the pool!!!
Having a magician there to entertain the kids was just amazing! Staff engagement with the kids was next level!!! The furniture was old but in a way that it added to the charm of the place and was in no way a negative. We have all said this was our favourite accommodation out of the 19 places we stayed on during our holiday. We would all go back in a heartbeat 💓

From the moment we arrived and were given champagne, it was a magical stay in a wonderful place with staff that were extremely attentive and wonderful. The kids loved the snacks and the popsicle phone.

You MUST stay here if staying in Hollywood especially for families. The price was competitive but some other features made it a truly memorable stay and rare hotel find. The location is second to none - 100m walk from where you want to go on Hollywood Boulevard. The rooms are comfortable and spacious. The staff were uniquely warm friendly and the family atmosphere was lovely. The included breakfast was very satisfying. But the unlimited free snacks, icecream, popsicles and hot and soft drinks were an amazingly unique feature for a hotel that make it a family treasure.

Amazing stay at The Magic Castle. Location, amenities, comfy beds and staff are wonderful, made us feel like family as soon as we walked in the door.

The Magic Castle Hotel is — without hyperbole — one of the best hotels my wife and I have ever stayed in. The rooms are spacious, spotless, and just a short walk from the main strip of Hollywood. That alone would have made it a great stay.

But what sets this place apart are the little things: the thoughtful touches that transform this hotel into an experience. Free snacks and refreshments (yes, free. No $10 boxes of M&Ms here).

A popsicle hotline by the pool: pick up the phone, request a popsicle, and moments later one of their staff delivers one to you.

Speaking of the staff… The level of care, warmth, and attentiveness was on another level. They consistently went above and beyond to make sure we felt welcomed, comfortable, and genuinely taken care of. It wasn’t just hospitality — it was magic.

We had the best time at the Magic Castle. The staff looked after us so well. We were there with my Mum. Our room was perfect! It was the most comfy sofa bed she had on our trip!!
With the free ice cream and chocolates and movies by the pool and the service, coming back in the evenings after a big day was so good 😊.
