We wanted a historical experience and we got it.
No breakfast offered, but there are tons of good spots around.
Nice old historic hotel, we have stayed there before and enjoyed it
When we returned our second day (late Afternoon) we found the room had t been made up. When asked at the reception, we were told we had to request clean up. When we asked her how we were supposed to know that she said she was new and wasn't sure. She looked around for a sign or on her paperwork. We said we had no problem with the policy but we did with the lack of signage. The next morning we mentioned this to the day receptionist and she was defensive, she said best Western and others have this policy, sent on about COVID - she did point out a sign, that was way off to the side and not visible as you stood where the reception was (to s several other signs - like no smoking and others were right there. We suggested that when one checks in this be pointed out to the guest and perhaps have a small sign in rooms. This was not a big problem, just annoying.
They also charged $10 for parking on the card we had on file - no problem - but they charged a 2 dollar fee on the 10 dollar parking -- seemed a bit excessive - even iif they messaged that credit cards have a fee - why not give a choice to pay in cash. Again nothing super big just disappointing compared to my previous stays.
nice historic hotel. Small bathroom is only issue. But otherwise nice and very convenient to all things
would have liked a larger bathroom and shower
What breakfast?
The lighting in the room was terrible. Couldn’t even read my book.
We loved the historic property and location.
Everything was fine.
Location, staff, ambiance, elevator.
This was a great place for our one night in Placerville - a wonderful, historic hotel in a lovely gold rush town! Carly was an absolute wonderful host and so friendly and helpful! The 2nd floor balcony overlooking the main street was a great place to relax and enjoy the view of town. We loved it here and hope to stay again someday.
We didn’t see any of the friendly ghosts this haunted hotel is known for - darn! Not really a bad thing, though, and we loved hearing the stories!
I like the location, the staff, and the history.
Perfect location!
I didn’t feel any ghosts…
The location!
They are, unfortunately, way understaffed. There was no one there at check in and the number said to call was no longer in service. We had to search the hotel to find someone.
I love the historical part of the Hotel. The elevator and what not
The street noise was unbearable. The corner bar should be put on notice by the local patron, owners and police department/ Sheriff.
ALL NIGHT LONG on Saturday....there were people yelling obscenities and fighting on Main Street.
It made.... what should have been a fun weekend..... unbearable. I was unable to sleep.
The employees were well aware of the issues/ shenanigans that happen on the street.
Le personnel l’est très accueillant et serviable.
Un retour dans le temps incontournable
Centrally located. Staff exceptional. Room good size, very clean and comfortable.
