Love the Historic Cary House and Placerville!
Pros:

We have stayed at the Historic Cary House several times. The location is the best, the staff is usually pretty friendly, but this last stay the staff was very friendly!

Cons:

The room could have been a little bit cleaner, there was some long black hairs in the bath tub.

Love the locatioin and the old tyme ambiance. Staff friendly and helpful.
Pros:

Location, staff and the hotel's historical connections and vibe. Bed was comfortable and the shower was hot. Walk out the front door and one is right in the historical section of Placerville.

Cons:

No real complaints but the hotel is definately "dated" and, in keeping with the historical tone, filled with antique furnishings that aren't necessarily always that comfortable.

Night from hell. 2 hours sleep.
Pros:

Location. Manageress very pleasant.

Cons:

Sloppy customer service. Incredibly noisy room location. Could have been given a quieter room. No bath plug permitted. Reception only staffed after 8 am. Then 8.15 to 8.30 nobody there.

Administration is not good
Pros:

I love the hotel and
The staff. My problem is with administration

Cons:

I had made the reservation for 2 nights, had to change to one night. Having made the reservation on Booking i had to cancel and rebook the 1 night. Cary House has not refunded the 2 night stay, nor have they or Booking responded to my many emails, texts, phone calls. I will have to find a new place to stay on my next yearly trip to Placerville, and I am very disappointed in Booking a s well.
